McNeese State to open 2015 season at LSU

Lake Charles, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - McNeese State's football team will open its 2015 season with a game at LSU, the two schools announced on Wednesday.

The Cowboys will make their second-ever visit to Tiger Stadium on Sept. 5, 2015.

LSU won the first meeting, 32-10 before 92,576 on Oct. 16, 2010.

"We are excited to open the 2015 season at LSU," McNeese coach Matt Viator said. "To play one of the best programs in the country, in one of the premier venues, is a great opportunity for our program."

McNeese opens the 2014 season at Nebraska and kicked off last two seasons with wins at Middle Tennessee and South Florida - both FBS programs. McNeese is 3-7 against FBS opponents under Viator.
