Tennessee Tech to visit Oregon, play six home games

Cookeville, TN (Sports Network) - A visit to the University of Oregon and six home games are highlights of the 2012 Tennessee Tech football schedule.

The Golden Eagles, who tied for the Ohio Valley Conference title last year while finishing 7-4 after an FCS playoff loss, will kick off their season at home against Hampton on Aug. 30.

Coach Watson Brown's squad will then host Division II North Greenville in a second straight Thursday night game on Sept. 6.

Tennessee Tech will complete the non-conference portion of its schedule by traveling to Eugene, Ore., to face the Pac-12 power Ducks.

The Golden Eagles' final eight games are within the OVC, including home dates against Jacksonville State (Oct. 6), Eastern Kentucky (Oct. 20), Eastern Illinois (Nov. 3) and UT Martin (Nov. 10).

Also within the OVC, Tennesse Tech will travel to Southeast Missouri State (Sept. 22), Murray State (Sept. 29), Tennessee State (Oct. 27) and Austin Peay (Nov. 17).
