Jacksonville State extends Crowe's contract

Jacksonville, AL (Sports Network) - Head football coach Jack Crowe has rewarded Jacksonville State with eight straight winning seasons. Now Jacksonville State has rewarded Crowe.

The Ohio Valley Conference university has extended Crowe's contract through the 2014 season.

Entering his 12th season at Jacksonville State, Crowe's base salary will be $162,000 per year and includes incentives if the Gamecocks win the OVC title and the FCS national championship.

Since Jacksonville State joined the OVC in 2003, it has the conference's highest winningest team percentage (.766) with a 48-15 record. The Gamecocks finished last season with a 9-3 record and ranked No. 12 in The Sports Network/Fathead.com FCS Top 25 after they reached the second round of the playoffs.
