Tallahassee, FL (Sports Network) - EJ Manuel threw for 196 yards and one touchdown to lead the Florida State Seminoles to a 23-19 victory over the Miami-Florida Hurricanes in an ACC bout at Doak Campbell Stadium.

Florida State (7-3, 5-2 ACC) only totaled 259 yards in the contest, but the defense forced three turnovers and the special teams scored, making it a complete team victory.

Jacory Harris threw for 225 yards and one touchdown for Miami (5-5, 3-4), but he was also intercepted once. Lamar Miller led the way on the ground for Miami, rushing for 92 yards on 22 carries.

The only points in the first quarter came off the foot of Dustin Hopkins, who drilled a 37-yard field goal for Florida State.

The Hurricanes took the lead midway through the second frame when Harris hit Clive Walford with a two-yard touchdown pass.

Florida State responded with two touchdowns, beginning with a 21-yard scoring strike from Manuel to Rodney Smith. That was followed by an 83-yard punt return by Greg Reid, which gave the Seminoles a 17-7 lead at the break.

Hopkins' 21-yard field goal early in the third quarter extended Florida State's lead to 20-7.

Hopkins connected on a 38-yard kick early in the fourth stanza, pushing Florida State's lead to 23-7.

The Hurricanes tried to force their way back into the game, beginning with a one-yard run by Mike James. The Hurricanes attempted a two-point conversion, but it was unsuccessful.

James added another touchdown with less than two minutes remaining in regulation, but the Hurricanes could come no closer and fell to the Seminoles by a four-point margin.
