The academy extended the lead to 13-0 when Proctor found Matt Aiken with a 44-yard scoring pass on the last play of the first quarter.

Proctor found Brandon Turner with a 27-yard scoring pass four minutes into the second period.

WKU got on the board on Rainey's 13-yard run midway through the quarter, but less than three minutes later the Midshipmen responded when Aaron Santiago's four-yard run TD run extended Navy's lead to 27-7 at the break.

Howell scored his second touchdown of the game on a 57-yard jaunt six minutes into the third quarter, but again Navy failed to convert the point after.

Rainy scored his second touchdown of the night for the Hilltoppers on a one- yard run with just under five minutes remaining in the period to make it a 33-14 game.

Navy extended its lead five minutes into the fourth period, when Tra'ves Bush picked off a Doughty pass and returned it 49 yards to the end zone.

Navy collected 410 rushing yards and 510 yards in total offense. The Midshipmen averaged eight yards per offensive snap, almost double that of WKU which produced 277 yards on 65 offensive plays.
