The Rebels (2-10, 2-6) were paced by Omar Clayton who completed 13-of-28 passes for 167 yards and a TD, but he was sacked three times and that brought the team's net rushing total down to a mere 67 yards on the night.

Brandon Sullivan scored back-to-back touchdowns for the Aztecs in the first quarter, the first coming on a 17-yard pass from Lindley and the other a one- yard run to put the hosts up by a 14-0 score. Kicker Abel Perez converted a 42-yard field goal later in the frame to make the score 17-0.

On the next possession the Rebels put up their first points of the night as Clayton combined with Kyle Watkins on a 27-yard TD pass to cut the deficit to 17-7 at the end of one period of play.

Lindley hooked up with Sampson twice in the second quarter, hitting the streaking wideout with TD passes of 41 and 50 yards to push SDSU out to a 31-7 advantage at the break.

In the third quarter the Aztecs continued to pile on with a three-yard TD catch by Vincent Brown, a 53-yard field goal by Perez and a 10-yard TD run by Hillman to extend the advantage out to 48-7 heading into the final period of play.

The Rebels, who are scheduled to close out the regular season against Hawaii next weekend, picked up one last TD as backup quarterback Mike Clausen recovered a fumble for another seven points.

UNLV finished with a mere 234 yards of total offense as it fell for the second straight time and seventh in the last eight outings.
