It took just over two minutes for ASU to strike, as Aplin scurried 13 yards to paydirt.

The Red Wolves, however, took a 14-3 lead after Aplin connected with Dwayne Frampton from 11 yards out for a score late in the opening quarter.

Aplin then scored on a nine-yard run early in the second frame to give ASU a 21-3 advantage.

A one-yard touchdown run by Dunbar and a pair 37-yard field goals by Olen late in the first half pulled North Texas within five, 21-16, at the half.
