Oxford, MS (Sports Network) - Warren Norman carried the ball 15 times for 111
yards and a touchdown to lead the Vanderbilt Commodores to a 28-14 win over
the Ole Miss Rebels in an SEC match-up at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
Larry Smith orchestrated the Vanderbilt (1-2, 1-1 SEC) offense, completing 9-
of-19 pass attempts for 73 yards, while carrying the ball five times for 35
yards and a touchdown.
Ole Miss (1-2, 0-1) was led by quarterback Jeremiah Masoli who carried the
ball 19 times for 104 yards and a touchdown, while completing 19-of-35 passes
for 190 yards and two interceptions.
Vanderbilt got on the board first, midway through the second quarter, with a
35-yard touchdown run by Zac Stacy.
The Commodores took a 14-0 lead minutes later, when Eddie Foster picked off
an errant Masoli pass and returned it 21 yards for the score.
Ole Miss responded in the closing minutes of the first half, with a four-yard
touchdown run by Korvic Neat to make it a 14-7 game at the break.
The Rebels tied the game midway through the third quarter with a 28-yard
touchdown run by Masoli.
Vanderbilt answered on its next play from scrimmage with an 80-yard touchdown
run by Norman, to make it a 21-14 game in favor of Vandy.
The Commodores put the game away midway through the fourth quarter with a
15-yard touchdown run by Smith to seal the 28-14 victory.
