Report: Auburn QB Marshall cited for possession of marijuana

(SportsNetwork.com) - Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall, who led the Tigers to the BCS national championship game, was reportedly cited for possession of marijuana less than one ounce.

The report from WSFA TV that said Marshall was cited Friday in Reynolds, Ga. Police chief Lonnie Holder told the TV station Marshall's vehicle was pulled over at 12:48 p.m. because of a possible window tinting violation. It was then the officer reported smelling marijuana, but found residue less than an ounce, according to the report.

Holder told the TV station Marshall was cited but not arrested.

It's certain Marshall will be asked questions regarding the citation at SEC media days, which for Auburn is this coming Monday. Marshall was one of three Auburn players listed to participate.

In 13 games last season, all starts, Marshall connected on 142-of-239 passes with 14 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also ran for 1,068 yards and 12 TDs.
