FBS College Football - Week 13 Predictions
On Campus

Scott Haynes, College Football Senior Editor

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Below is a compilation of The Sports Network's predictions for the top games in Week 13 of the college football season. (Detailed previews for each game can be found by following the "Top 25 scoreboard" link within the FBS college football section of sportsnetwork.com)

(11) U-S-C (8-2) at (7) Arizona State (9-1), Thursday, 8 pm

Thought to be out of the Pac-10 race a few weeks ago, the Trojans have kept close and are now within striking distance. However, Erickson has done a great job in Tempe this year and his Sun Devils are more than capable of ending USC's reign of dominance in the conference.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Arizona State 27, USC 24
- Scott Haynes

Arkansas (7-4) at (1) L-S-U (10-1), Friday, 2:30 pm

LSU is the smart pick in this contest, but don't expect a blowout by the Tigers. Arkansas will pound Darren McFadden along the LSU defensive front, keeping things close from start to finish.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: LSU 31, Arkansas 27
- Pat Taggart

(13) Texas (9-2) at Texas A&M (6-5), Friday, 3:30 pm

Go with the Longhorns this week, as Jamaal Charles will carry the load. Also, Colt McCoy should be productive against a week Texas A&M secondary.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Texas 31, Texas A&M 28
- Pat Taggart

(17) Boise State (10-1) at (14) Hawaii (10-0), Friday, 9:05 pm

As the highest-ranking WAC teams to take the field against each other since 1994, the league could not have asked for a better finale to give it visibility on a national scale. With so much riding on this game for both programs, it will be the respective defenses that will decide the outcome. BSU will certainly try to get in the head of Colt Brennan, but as long as he keeps control and continues to make the right reads, this will be the contest that puts him on the map.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Hawaii 42, Boise State 38
- Gregg Xenakes

Miami-Florida (5-6) at (15) Boston College (9-2), Saturday, 12 pm

Boston College hasn't had much success against Miami over the years, but the two programs appear to be headed in different directions now. The Eagles are simply the better team here and they should be able to get past a Miami club that appears to have already given up on its season.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Boston College 27, Miami-Florida 13
- Ralph Lauro

(8) Virginia Tech (9-2) at (16) Virginia (9-2), Saturday, 12 pm

The Hokies are clicking on all cylinders, but winning in Charlottesville this year won't be easy. This should be a low-scoring affair, but the hometown team should do just enough to get the win and capture the Coastal Division crown in the process.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Virginia 20, Virginia Tech 17
- Scott Haynes

(19) Tennessee (8-3) at Kentucky (7-4), Saturday, 1:30 pm

Finally, the losing streak against Tennessee will come to an end for Kentucky. The home crowd will certainly help the cause, and Andre Woodson will put forth a tremendous effort.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Kentucky 31, Tennessee 23
- Pat Taggart

Utah (8-3) at (23) B-Y-U (8-2), Saturday, 2 pm

Already guaranteed at least a share of the MWC title for the second straight season, the Cougars just might let up a little in this game, even with so many more accomplishments yet to be realized. Knowing full well that a victory in the regular season finale would put them in a better position come the postseason, the Utes plan on throwing everything at BYU to make that happen.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Utah 31, BYU 27
- Gregg Xenakes

(9) Oregon (8-2) at U-C-L-A (5-5), Saturday, 3:30 pm

The Ducks are coming off a bad loss, and they will now be without one of the top quarterbacks in the nation. The good news though, Oregon is facing a team that has been crippled by injuries, especially at the quarterback position. Expect the Ducks' defense to shut down the Bruins, and look for Jonathan Stewart to carry the load offensively for the victory.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Oregon 27, UCLA 13
- Ralph Lauro

(20) Connecticut (9-2) at (4) West Virginia (9-1), Saturday, 3:30 pm

It all comes down to this, as the winner will earn the right to call themselves the Big East champion and will also get a chance to play in a BCS bowl game. WVU has been tough to beat at home over the years, and it appears to be the superior team here despite UConn's successful campaign. Steve Slaton and Pat White should run wild and the Mountaineers' defense should dominate, as WVU keeps its hopes alive for a possible national title appearance with a convincing win.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: West Virginia 38, Connecticut 10
- Ralph Lauro

(6) Georgia (9-2) at Georgia Tech (7-4), Saturday, 3:30 pm

It is hard to pick against Georgia right now, as Mark Richt's Bulldogs have been playing inspired football in recent weeks. Expect that to continue this weekend with a victory over Tech.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Georgia 27, Georgia Tech 17
- Pat Taggart

Oklahoma State (6-5) at (10) Oklahoma (9-2), Saturday, 3:30 pm

The absence of Sam Bradford and DeMarco Murray would be huge, but expect Oklahoma to win even if neither can play. Murray is definitely out, but the Sooners have other capable backs. Expect the home team to claim the division title.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Oklahoma 34, Oklahoma State 23
- Pat Taggart

Florida State (7-4) at (12) Florida (8-3), Saturday, 5 pm

Since 1990, Florida is 139-5 when holding opponents to 21 or fewer points. The Seminoles do not have a strong offense, so expect the Gators to add to that impressive stat.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Florida 31, Florida State 17
- Pat Taggart

(21) Clemson (8-3) at South Carolina (6-5), Saturday, 7 pm

South Carolina has the advantage of playing at home this weekend, but Clemson is the better of these two teams and will win narrowly. Expect a balanced offensive effort from the Tigers.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Clemson 27, South Carolina 20
- Pat Taggart

(24) Cincinnati (8-3) at Syracuse (2-9), Saturday, 7:15 pm Cincinnati is clearly the choice here and it should have little trouble dominating the Orange on both sides of the ball en route to the victory.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Cincinnati 35, Syracuse 10
- Ralph Lauro

(3) Missouri (10-1) vs. (2) Kansas (11-0), Saturday, 8 pm

Both Missouri and Kansas can put up huge offensive numbers, so this game will be decided by the defenses. Right now, the Jayhawks have the edge in that department, so expect Kansas to wrap up the regular season undefeated.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Kansas 34, Missouri 27
- Pat Taggart

Alabama (6-5) at (25) Auburn (7-4), Saturday, 8 pm

There is absolutely no reason to believe that Alabama will win this game. If the Tide couldn't beat UL-Monroe at home, how could the squad beat Auburn on the road? The Tigers will stretch their series win streak to a record six games.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Auburn 27, Alabama 17
- Pat Taggart
