Renauld Williams announces retirement

Regina, SK (SportsNetwork.com) - Linebacker Renauld Williams is retiring from the Canadian Football League.

The news was announced by the Saskatchewan Roughriders, who named Williams the club's director of player development.

Williams played four of his six CFL seasons with the Roughriders. He joined the club in 2007 and spent three years in Saskatchewan before signing with the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers in 2010.

The Hofstra product returned to the CFL in 2011 and after a two-year stint with Hamilton, he rejoined the Roughriders for 2013.

Williams started the first 10 games last season before a knee injury put him on the shelf.

In his CFL career, Williams registered 326 defensive tackles and 21 sacks.
