Bombers' Cvetkovic retires
Winnipeg, MB (SportsNetwork.com) - Winnipeg Blue Bombers long snapper Chris Cvetkovic announced his retirement Monday.
Cvetkovic spent 11 of his 12 CFL seasons with Winnipeg and will finish his career with 66 special teams tackles in 161 career games.
"Chris was a valued member of our special teams unit for many years, and we thank him for all of his contributions to our football team," said Bombers general manager Kyle Walters in a statement Monday. "He was a great locker room guy, and a player whose efforts both on and off the football field will be missed."
Cvetkovic was a two-time winner of the Ed Kotowich Award, which recognizes a Blue Bomber for excellence in football ability, team camaraderie and community service.
Before joining the Bombers, Cvetkovic spent his rookie year of 2002 with Saskatchewan.
