Blue Bombers acquire DB Banks from Lions

Winnipeg, MB (SportsNetwork.com) - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have acquired defensive back Korey Banks from the BC Lions in exchange for wide receiver Kito Poblah.

Banks spent the last eight seasons with the Lions, recording 391 tackles and 27 interceptions during that span. He broke into the league in 2004 with the Ottawa Renegades.

A two-time Grey Cup winner, Banks has 442 tackles and 37 interceptions in 163 career games.

"Korey adds an immediate presence in our locker room, veteran leadership both on and off the field, and we look forward to welcoming him to the Bomber organization," said Winnipeg general manager Kyle Walters.

Poblah joins the Lions after three seasons with the Blue Bombers. He caught 53 passes for 534 yards and one touchdown in 34 games.
