GAME NOTES: The Troy Trojans try to pick up a second straight win on Tuesday afternoon, as they tangle with the Southeast Missouri Redhawks in subregional action of the 2012 CBE Classic at McKenzie Arena in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

On Monday, the Trojans snapped a two-game slide by knocking off host Chattanooga in this building by a score of 68-61. The victory also served to even the team's overall record on the season at 2-2.

As for the Redhawks, they too hit the hardwood on Monday as part of this tournament, but their results were not as favorable as they bowed to Louisiana Tech in a 67-63 final. For SEMO, the setback snapped a three-game win streak.

The Redhawks have won all four previous matchups with Troy, the last coming in 1995 by a score of 109-91.

The Redhawks led by a point at intermission against Louisiana Tech on Monday, but that wasn't enough for SEMO as the squad allowed that slight lead to slip away and eventually turn into a four-point setback. Playing all 40 minutes of the outing, Tyler Stone responded by recording a double-double consisting of 17 points and a game-high 14 rebounds, while Nino Johnson had a double-double of his own with 10 points and 10 boards, his five blocked shots and three assists helping to offset his six turnovers. Corey Wilford contributed with 16 points on 6-of-14 shooting from the field. Except for the season opener against Kansas on the road, Stone has scored at least 16 points in every outings, a high of 25 versus Lyon College, which is why he currently leads the program in scoring overall with 16.8 ppg. Johnson handles much of the action in the paint with his 10.2 rpg and 3.0 bpg for the Redhawks.

Even though Troy started off the meeting with Chattanooga a bit sluggish, shooting only 36.4 percent from the floor and 3-of-15 behind the three-point line, the squad presented a very balanced attack as four scored in double figures in the seven-point victory. Antoine Myers led the way with 13 points, Hunter Williams and R.J. Scott both dropped 12 and Deonata Jethroe accounted for 11 points, the last two combining to hit 6-of-13 shots on the perimeter as the team finished up 9-of-27 from three-point range. Ray Chambers accounted for only four points, but his presence on the inside was crucial as he cleared a team-high 10 rebounds. Through four games the top scorer for the Trojans is Williams who is putting up 11.3 ppg for a program that is generating a mere 58.8 ppg as it shoots just 37.9 percent from the floor. Chambers checks in with 6.0 rpg to pace the group, but overall Troy is pulling down only 29.0 rpg and that's going to leave the team in a vulnerable position today.

If the Trojans again have issues in the paint they might not be so lucky against SEMO as they were versus the Mocs, and that could be the turning point for the Redhawks.
