GAME NOTES: In its return to the Gill Coliseum after the 2K Sports Classic, the Oregon State Beavers will host the Montana State Bobcats on Sunday.

This is one of two games on a short road trip for Montana State. The Bobcats didn't fare well in the first road test against Air Force (86-72) and are 0-2 on the road this season overall. The lone win came at home against Portland (83-74). Montana State opens up a three-game home-stand in its next game against Pepperdine.

Oregon State ended its time in New York City for the 2K sports Classic with a 66-58 win over Purdue. In the game Bronx native Devon Collier erupted for a career-high 27 points and 14 rebounds. The Beavers are now 3-1 this season with a pair of wins coming at Gill coliseum to open the season before the trip to the east coast. It will be a quick turn around for the Beavers who take on nationally ranked Kansas on the road in just five days.

Montana State has won back-to-back meetings in the series and has a 3-2 all- time record against Oregon State.

The Bobcats kept it close against Air Force in the first half by shooting at a 53.3 percent clip. however after the half the wheels came off and Montana State fell to 34.4 percent shooting while allowing the Falcons to net 66.7 percent of their field goal attempts. The Bobcats were also on the short end of a 39-28 differential in rebounding. Of four players in double figures Flavien Davis was the leader with 17 points.

Losing on the defensive end of the floor has been an alarming trend for Montana State. On the season the bobcats are giving up 79.0 points per game while allowing team's to shoot at an incredible 50.6 field goal percentage. The Bobcats can score themselves (75.7 ppg), but need to do a better job controlling the boards where they have a -3.3 differential. Antonio Biglow got into double figures yet again versus Air Force but he needed 12 shots to get 12 points. Normally Biglow (16.7 ppg) is an solid shooter as he connects on 45.2 percent of his field goal attempts overall. Davis (14.0 ppg) and Calen Coleman (11.3 ppg) also score in double figures.

Collier was sensational in playing 30 minutes off the bench against Purdue. He connected on 9-of-15 shots and 9-of-11 from the free throw line. The rest of the team combined for 14-of-40 shooting overall and just even points from the free throw line. Led by Collier the team managed a 47-36 edge in rebounds as well.

Craig Robinson's squad is one that is built on ball movement and efficient finishing. The Beavers shoot at a 47.6 percent clip while dishing out 15.0 assists per game as a team. The Beavers have also been formidable on the inside with its rebounding average (42.5 pg) the 26th best in the country. Collier (15.5 ppg, 7.0 rpg) has been a consistent contributor off the bench. He is selective with his shots which has helped is field goal percentage (54.3). running the show at the point is Ahmad Starks (14.8 ppg, 3.0 apg) who is lethal from beyond the arc, although he has only four triples in the last three games. The duo of Angus Brandt (11.2 ppg. 8.5 rpg) and Eric Moreland (7.8 ppg, 10.5 rpg) in the frontcourt has been very productive.

The Beavers play at a very high tempo and are a handful for any team. Montana State should find that out in short order in a hostile environment.
