GAME NOTES: The Saint Louis Billikens aim for their 10th straight victory when they battle the Temple Owls in an Atlantic 10 Conference affair in Philadelphia on Saturday evening.

This is SLU's best winning streak since capturing 14 in a row to begin the 1993-94 season. The Billikens, who haven't lost since Nov. 28 at Washington, are coming off a 70-62 victory at home over UMass on Thursday. Rob Loe scored a game-high 20 points. Jordair Jett accounted for 15 points off the bench, followed by Kwamain Mitchell and Mike McCall Jr with 10 points apiece. That wrapped up a nine-game homestand for the Billikens, so this game will be their first on the road since falling to the Huskies, 66-61.

What's driving the Billkens is their defense. They lead the A-10 in scoring defense (55.5 ppg). Recently, Saint Louis allowed 46 or fewer points in four consecutive games, the best stretch for the school since 1949-50. McCall, a junior guard, paced the Billikens in scoring with 12.0 ppg. He's also second in the A-10 in 3-point field goal percentage (.509). Junior forward Dwayne Evans comes in at 10.6 ppg and leads the team in rebounding (6.3 rpg). Senior forward Cody Ellis is also in double figure scoring (10.5 ppg) and is a 91 percent free-throw shooter. Jett, who is averaging 9.2 points per tilt, is hitting at 53.5 percent from the floor, the best mark for an A-10 guard.

On the flip side, the Owls will try to snap their first regular season two- game losing streak since Feb. 26-28, 2009. Temple fell at nationally-ranked Kansas last Sunday in a tight contest and then faltered at Xavier on Thursday, 57-52, in their A-10 opener. Anthony Lee led the Owls with 15 points and seven rebounds against the Musketeers, while Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson filled the stat sheet with 11 points, six boards and six assists. Scootie Randall tacked on 13 points, while Khalif Wyatt, who entered the game as the team's leading scorer with 16.2 ppg, managed just five points on 2-of-11 field goal efficiency.

Wyatt leads the Owls' balanced attack with 15.4 ppg. He has made 31 consecutive free-throw attempts. Randall (12.5 ppg) and Lee (11.6 ppg) are the other double-digit scorers for Temple.

Temple is 22-7 in A-10 home openers and has won the last six meetings against Saint Louis. Expect the Owls to ride the effort of Wyatt and snap SLU's lengthy winning streak.
