GAME NOTES: The Fordham Rams entertain the Saint Joseph's Hawks in an Atlantic 10 Conference clash at Rose Hill Gym.

The Hawks have alternated wins and losses since Jan. 5, and their last run of victories came in a three-game streak from Dec. 28 to Jan. 5. Most recently, Saint Joseph's took down Xavier, 59-49, last Saturday.

With it's 66-63 win at home over Rhode Island on the same day, Fordham snapped a three-game losing streak. The Rams will be happy to play this game in the Bronx, as they are winless in all 10 games on the road this season.

The Hawks have won six in a row against Fordham, and 17 of the last 18 overall. The lone loss during that 11-season span came on Jan. 17, 2007 on the Rams' home court, a 56-55 overtime verdict. SJU has not played in the Bronx since March 7, 2009, as the meeting on Feb. 13, 2011 was held at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Langston Galloway connected on back-to-back 3-pointers in the final two minutes, and Saint Joseph's ended the game with a 12-0 run, as the Hawks defeated Xavier by 10 points over the weekend. Galloway finished with 15 points. Carl Jones also scored 15, as did Halil Kanacevic, who added eight rebounds, six assists and four blocks to his stat line.

Galloway leads SJU in scoring with 17.2 ppg, good for third in the conference. Carl Jones is ranked 11th in the A-10 at 14.8 ppg. C.J. Aiken (11.6 ppg) is also averaging double figures for the Hawks. Roberts is the leading rebounder in the A-10, pulling down 8.6 boards per outing. Aiken leads the league in blocked shots at 3.1 per game. As a collective unit, Saint Joseph's plays sound defense, and is in the top-five in the A-10 in both field goal defense (.409) and 3-point field goal defense (.311), and it leads the conference in blocked shots (6.4).

Fordham squeaked by Rhode Island at Rose Hill Gym over the weekend, with junior Branden Frazier, the lone upperclassman for Fordham with senior Chris Gaston still sidelined with an injury, scoring a game-high 20 points, doing most of his damage from the free throw line (11-of-13), hitting all 11 in the second half, including 3-of-4 in the final minutes to help secure the victory. URI had a chance to send it to overtime, but a 3-point try at the buzzer was off the mark. Freshman guard Mandell Thomas netted a season-high 17 points, freshman forward Ryan Rhoomes grabbed a season-best eleven rebounds and Travion Leonard netted a season-high 13 points and added eight boards.

Frazier leads Fordham in scoring and assists, averaging 16.1 ppg, sixth best in A-10, and 5.2 apg, second in the conference. Gaston has four double-doubles this year and 56 in his career. He is averaging 14.0 ppg, second-best on the squad, and a team-high 8.1 rpg in just 12 games. Ryan Canty also helps out on the boards, pulling down 6.9 rpg to rank ninth in the A-10. Fordham is ranked first in the league in rebounding (38.6) and second in offensive rebounds (13.9). As far as scoring, the Rams sit 12th in the conference with an average of 66.4 ppg, but they are allowing 75.2 ppg, putting them at the bottom league in scoring defense.

Although the Hawks have been alternating wins and losses of late, they have too many offensive weapons for the Rams to handle. Expect SJU to finally string together a couple of wins as it prevails on the road.
