NCAA Game Summary - Illinois State at Drexel

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Jackie Carmichael led five scorers in double figures with 21 points as the Illinois State Redbirds outlasted the Drexel Dragons in overtime, 86-84, at the Daskalakis Center.
Carmichael was 6-of-12 shooting from the floor and 9-of-11 from the free throw line for Illinois State (2-0). Tyler Brown poured in 20 points including three baskets from beyond the arc. Johnny Hill added 13 points while Bryant Allen and Jon Ekey contributed 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Frantz Massenat was one assist shy of a double-double, finishing with a team- high 18 points and nine assists for Drexel (0-2). Five Dragons were in double figures. Damion Lee and Chris Fouch contributed 16 points apiece, while Derrick Thomas and Kazembe Abif tacked on 13 and 10, respectively.
In the first half Illinois shot 15-of-32 (.469) from the floor, and 2-of-13 (.154) from three point range. Drexel shot 14-of-23 (.609), giving it a 43-37 lead at halftime.
A 12-1 run late in the game by the Dragons gave Drexel an eight point lead. However ISU battled back with consecutive 3-pointers from Brown and Hill. On the final possession Carmichael was fouled and hit both free throws to send the game to overtime
Illinois State scored seven straight points at one point in the overtime session to capture the win.
Drexel head coach Bruiser Flint failed in his second attempt at his 200th win at school.
