NCAA Game Summary - Denver at Seattle

(Saturday, January 12)

Final Score: Denver 64, Seattle 51

Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Chase Hallam led the way with 17 points as the Denver Pioneers defeated the Seattle Redhawks, 64-51, in a Western Athletic Conference matchup at KeyArena.

Chris Udofia added 15 points for the Pioneers (9-7, 5-1 WAC), while Jalen Love finished with 11 points and Royce O'Neale pulled down 10 rebounds.

The Redhawks (5-10, 0-5) were led by Clarence Trent with 15 points.

Denver came out of the game with a hot hand, connecting on 55.2 percent of its field goals tries in the first half, including a healthy 9-of-18 from 3- point range, as it took a 43-29 lead into the break. Seattle also shot the ball well, making 54.5 percent of its field goal attempts but missed all four of its 3-point tries.

After halftime, both squads cooled off from the field. The Pioneers shot just 31.6 from the field in the second half, including 3-of-9 from 3-point distance. The Redhawks hit on 39.1 percent from the field, but again could not hit from distance, going 0-5 from beyond the 3-point arc. The first half hole that Seattle dug themselves was too big to get out of, as Denver secured the victory and kept the Redhawks winless in conference play.

Seattle dominated down low, outscoring Denver in the paint, 34-18. The Pioneers had the huge advantage from the 3-point line, outscoring the Redhawks 36-0.
