NCAA Game Summary - Santa Clara at Saint Louis

St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - Led by game-highs of 30 points and seven steals from Kevin Foster, the Santa Clara Broncos downed the Saint Louis Billikens, 74-62, as part of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic at Chaifetz Arena.
Marc Trasolini and Evan Roquemore contributed nine points each for the Broncos (2-0). Trasolini pulled down 10 rebounds and Roquemore dished out six assists to help Santa Clara remain unbeaten.
For the Billikens (1-1), Rob Loe finished with 13 points and Cody Ellis added 11 points. Dwayne Evans scored nine points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds as SLU lost on its home floor.
Santa Clara came out hot to start the game, connecting on 58.1 percent of its attempts from the field and 6-of-7 from three-point range on the way to a 44-31 halftime lead. Saint Louis struggled in the opening period and shot only 38.5 percent from the floor before the break.
After halftime, the Billikens continued to have problems finding their shooting touch. Saint Louis made only 32 percent from the field and just 2-of-11 from three-point range. The Broncos led by as many as 20 points and cruised to the double-digit victory.
Santa Clara scored 24 points off of 17 Saint Louis turnovers. The Broncos also outscored the Billikens in the paint, 32-24.
