Birmingham, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - De'Mon Brooks poured in 28 points as the Davidson Wildcats coasted to a 109-88 decision over the Samford Bulldogs in a Southern Conference matchup at the Pete Hanna Center.
Davidson (13-11, 9-1 SoCon) also received a strong showing from Brian Sullivan, who tallied 25 points with the help of 7-of-10 shooting from 3-point range. Tyler Kalinoski added 19 points and seven assists while Tom Droney recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 assists. Jordan Barham provided a spark off the bench with 10 points as the Wildcats earned their sixth win in a row.
Tim Williams netted a team-high 26 points for the Bulldogs (10-15, 5-5) as they lost at home for just the third time this season. Raijon Kelly contributed 19 points, Jordan Capps had 12 points and Brandon Roberts scored 11.
The Wildcats knocked down 11-of-13 attempts from behind the 3-point line and assisted 16 of their 22 makes from the floor in the first half. Samford went into the intermission trailing, 61-44, despite making good on 56.3 percent of its field goal tries in the opening period.
Davidson sank 60 percent of its shots from the floor and converted 13-of-18 attempts at the free-throw line in the second stanza. The Bulldogs missed eight of their 19 shots at the charity stripe after the break.
Samford's bench outscored the Wildcats' reserves, 39-13. Davidson finished the contest 16-of-22 from 3-point range.
