Fever exact revenge against Dream
Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Karima Christmas scored 18 points off the bench and the Indiana Fever held off the Atlanta Dream for a 77-70 decision that stopped a four-game losing streak.
Though the Fever never trailed after closing out the first quarter on a 7-0 run, Atlanta pulled within a point on three occasions in the final period, the last coming on two Erika de Souza free throws that cut Indiana's lead to 71-70 with 1:12 left.
Sydney Carter was fouled while converting a layup on the ensuing possession, however, and hit the subsequent free throw to put the Fever up by three. The Dream turned it over on their next trip before Christmas sank two game-sealing foul shots with 35.4 seconds left.
Carter, Marissa Coleman and Shavonte Zellous all finished with 11 points to help the Fever avenge a 76-68 defeat to the Dream in Indianapolis on Sunday.
De Souza led all players with 23 points and went 9-for-12 from the field in addition to pulling down eight rebounds. Angel McCoughtry had 17 points for Atlanta, which had won eight of nine coming in.
