Parker lifts Sparks past Shock

Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Candace Parker had 24 points, seven rebounds and six assists and the Los Angeles Sparks defeated the Tulsa Shock, 87-77, on Thursday night.

Alana Beard tallied 20 points and five assists, while Jantel Lavender added 18 points and 13 boards for the Sparks, who snapped a four-game losing streak.

Glory Johnson posted 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead Tulsa, which had its four-game winning streak halted.

The Sparks jumped out to a 46-36 lead at the break before Parker netted 16 of LA's 25 points in the third, helping it establish a 71-52 cushion going into the fourth.

LA led by as many as 23 in the fourth.
