Sun win top pick in WNBA draft lottery

Secaucus, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - The Connecticut Sun won the WNBA draft lottery for the first time Tuesday and will have the No. 1 pick in 2014.

The Sun, who finished with a league-worst 10-24 record, had the best chance to win the lottery at 44.2 percent.

The Tulsa Shock will draft second and the San Antonio Silver Stars, who had the worst chance out of the four lottery teams, will pick third. The New York Liberty will draft fourth.

The Sun drafted No. 1 once before, in 2010, after making a trade with the Minnesota Lynx. They picked center Tina Charles, who was named Rookie of the Year.

The rest of the first round in order is: Indiana Fever, Washington Mystics, Seattle Storm, Atlanta Dream, Phoenix Mercury, Chicago Sky, Los Angeles Sparks and Minnesota Lynx.

The Lynx won their second WNBA title in three years in October.
