=== Groupie Doll headlines Cigar Mile ===

Ozone Park, NY (Sports Network) - Champion female sprinter Groupie Doll tops a
field of seven highly rated horses for Saturday's $350,000 Cigar Mile at
 Aqueduct.

Trained by co-owner Buff Bradley, Groupie Doll is making a quick turn around
after her victory on Nov. 3 in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint. The 4-
year-old filly won the $1 million race by 4 1/2-lengths as the 7-10 favorite,
 notching her fifth straight win.

Groupie Doll will be ridden by Rajiv Maragh from the outside post in the Cigar
Mile. Maragh has been aboard the chestnut filly for her last six starts.

"I wasn't looking for another race for her; I wasn't looking for a race
against boys," Bradley said. "I thought that trip (to and from California)
might knock her back a little, but they had the parade of Breeders' Cup
champions here at Churchill last weekend and she was just feeling so good. We
took her to the track to train her just to let her down a little. I never even
thought about the Cigar Mile until that weekend."

After opening 2012 with three losses, Groupie Doll posted wins in the Vinery
Madison and Humana Distaff Stakes. She was given time off until September when
she won the Presque Isle Downs Masters followed by the Thoroughbred Club of
America Stakes leading to the Breeders' Cup.

"Since the layoff over the summer she's only had three starts and she's won
all three of them impressively," Bradley added. "She'll get a vacation after
this regardless, but she's got something left. We want to run her when she's
ready to run, and she's ready right now. The one-turn mile is good for her and
I feel she can be competitive in a race like this."

Groupie Doll has earned more than $1.5 million in 16 career starts with nine
 wins.

Breaking from the inside post will be former Travers Stakes winner Stay
Thirsty. The 4-year-old colt, trained by Todd Pletcher, will again be ridden
 by Ramon Dominguez.

Owned by Mike Repole, Stay Thirsty is coming off a second-place result to Flat
Out in the Jockey Club Gold Cup in October. Earlier this year he was second in
the Vanlandingham Stakes and was fifth in both the Suburban and Woodward
 Handicaps.

Winless since last year's Travers, Stay Thirsty has banked better than $1.7
million with four wins in 16 starts.

Shipping in from California will be Bob Baffert's Coil with jockey Martin
Garcia. The 4-year-old colt will start from post six.

Owned by Mike Pegram, Coil won the Santa Anita Sprint Championship Stakes on
Oct. 6 after finishing second in the Pat O'Brien Stakes in August. In the
Breeder's Cup Sprint he finished seventh behind Trinniberg.

Winner of last year's Haskell Invitational, Coil has earned just over $1
million with wins in half of his 12 career starts.

Here is the full field for the Cigar Mile in post position order: Stay
 Thirsty,  Ramon Dominguez;  Associate, John  Velazquez; Buffum,  Eddie Castro;
Jersey Town, Javier Castellano; Hymn Book, Joel Rosario; Coil, Martin Garcia
 and Groupie Doll, Rajiv Maragh.

Post-time Saturday for the Mile will be 3:20 p.m. (ET).
