Leafs get Holland, Staubitz from Ducks for Blacker, picks
Anaheim, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Anaheim Ducks acquired defenseman Jesse Blacker and two 2014 draft picks from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for forwards Peter Holland and Brad Staubitz.
Toronto surrenders a conditional third-round pick that could become a second- round selection should certain conditions be met and a seventh-round pick originally acquired from the Ducks as part of the trade that sent David Steckel to Anaheim.
Blacker recorded one goal in five games with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League this season. In 130 career AHL games with the Marlies, Blacker has six goals and 23 assists.
Holland had one goal in four contests with the Ducks this season. Originally selected by Anaheim in the first round (15th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Holland has five goals and two assists in 29 career contests with the Ducks.
Staubitz went scoreless in six games with Norfolk (AHL) this season. He has 10 goals, 11 assists and 521 penalty minutes in 230 career NHL games with San Jose (2008-10), Minnesota (2010-12), Montreal (2011-12) and Anaheim (2012-13).
Holland will report to the Maple Leafs Saturday and Staubitz has been assigned to the Marlies.
