Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Stanley Pringle tallied 16 points and the Penn State Nittany Lions cruised past the Towson Tigers, 78-54, as part of the Philly Classic.
Talor Battle turned in an all-around effort for PSU (6-1), notching 16 points, nine assists and eight boards. Jamelle Cornley chipped in with 13 points, while Andrew Jones snared a game-high 13 caroms.
Troy Franklin was the only player to reach double figures for Towson (3-3), finishing with 12 points.
The Lions opened the game with a 22-8 run and they held a 40-24 advantage at the intermission.
PSU outscored Towson 14-3 to begin the second stanza, as it coasted to the 24- point win.
The Lions shot 48.3 percent from the floor in the game and handed out 22 assists against just 10 turnovers.
