Madison, WI (Sports Network) - Marcus Landry scored 23 points to lead the Wisconsin Badgers to a 65-61 victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions in a Big Ten Conference clash at the Kohl Center.
Jason Bohannon added 14 points in the win for Wisconsin (11-3, 2-0 Big Ten), while Trevon Hughes and Joe Krabbenhoft tallied 10 points apiece. Hughes grabbed six rebounds as well for the Badgers, and Krabbenhoft collected a game-high 10 boards.
Stanley Pringle poured in a career-high 26 points to go with five rebounds and five assists to lead Penn State (12-3, 1-1) in the losing effort, while Jamelle Cornley tallied 20 points and pulled down seven rebounds for the Nittany Lions.
Penn State shot at a solid 48.0 percent clip during the first period of play, but the Badgers took a 34-26 lead into the break due to a 48.1 percent effort from the field and a 5-of-6 performance at the charity stripe.
The Badgers held the Lions to just 40.0 percent from the floor during the second stanza, and converted 7-of-9 from the foul line to gain the edge and earn the four-point victory.
The Lions shot just 43.6 percent from the field, including 5-of-16 from beyond the arc, in the loss.
