Ann Arbor, MI (Sports Network) - Manny Harris netted a game-high 28 points as the Michigan Wolverines routed the Penn State Nittany Lions, 71-51, in Big Ten play at Crisler Arena.
Harris had seven assists and six rebounds for the Wolverines (15-8, 5-6 Big Ten), while Stu Douglass added 13 points in the win.
The Nittany Lions (17-6, 6-4) were paced by Jamelle Cornley and his 25 points. Cornley shot 10-of-12 from the field while bringing in six rebounds. Talor Battle dropped in nine points and grabbed in six rebounds and added five assists in the defeat.
Despite shooting 39.4 percent from the floor in the first half, including 5- of-16 from three-point range, the Nittany Lions managed to hold a 31-29 lead at intermission.
In the second half, the Wolverines connected on 63.6 percent from the floor. Meanwhile, the Nittany Lions were held to 24 percent shooting over the final 20 minutes en route to the 20-point loss.
The Wolverines got major contributions from their bench play, as they outscored the Nittany Lions' reserves, 30-8.
Penn State had its four-game winning streak snapped in the loss.
