The Black Knights finally put points on the board with 3:35 left in the quarter on a Daniel Grochowski field goal from 25 yards, the only scoring of the first half.
Army increased its lead and opened the second-half scoring four and a half minutes in with a one-yard run through the middle by Santiago.
The Hilltoppers got in the game five minutes later with a 11-yard touchdown pass from Doughty to McNeal.

Army reclaimed the lead with seven minutes remaining in the game on a 20-yard touchdown run by Baggett, making it 17-14.
The Hilltoppers used up most of the remainder of the clock on their ensuing drive, with Andrews scoring on a two-yard touchdown run, grabbing a 21-17 advantage.
The Knights fumbled on an attempted hook-and-ladder play with 27 seconds left, allowing the Hilltoppers to recover the ball, take a knee and leave with the victory.
