( - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim will try for their fourth straight victory on Saturday afternoon when they take on the Kansas City Royals in the second game of a weekend set.

After falling behind 1-0 in the first inning on Friday night, the Angels responded with six unanswered runs to take down the 6-1 victory, their 11th in the past 14 games.

Mike Trout had his second straight multi-hit game, finishing 2-for-4 with his ninth home run of the season. Chris Iannetta also belted a longball, his fourth, while Howie Kendrick, C.J. Cron, Erick Aybar and Grant Green collected two hits apiece.

C.J. Wilson (6-3) was stellar once again, allowing one earned run in 6 1/3 innings. He most recently tossed a shutout on May 17 and his ERA now sits at 3.00.

Danny Duffy (2-4) was knocked around for nine hits and five earned runs in six innings. He had not allowed more than three hits in any previous appearance this year.

Norichika Aoki was 3-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base, while Alex Gordon had an RBI single in the first.

Taking the hill for the Royals on Saturday will be their ace James Shields, who's 6-3 with a 2.67 ERA this season, striking out 59 while walking just 13 in 67 1/3 innings.

Shields has won three consecutive starts and six of his last seven, including on May 18 against Baltimore when he allowed nine hits and three earned runs over seven innings of work. He's allowed three runs or less in nine of 10 starts and lasted at least 5 2/3 innings in every outing.

The veteran right-hander has struggled in his career at Angel Stadium, posting a 5.45 ERA in 33 innings.

Matt Shoemaker will get the nod for the Angels, as he makes just his fourth career start.

After making his debut late last season and serving out of the bullpen in early April, Shoemaker has been a strong addition to the rotation since being recalled on May 13, going 2-0 with a 2.35 ERA in two starts.

"Shoe did an outstanding job today, and he did an outstanding job in Philly last week," Albert Pujols said after Shoemaker allowed just two hits and an earned run over six innings against Tampa Bay on May 18. "Anytime you get a guy like that who's not really a true starter and he comes up here and helps us win a game and a series, it's huge."

The Angels have defeated the Royals on five straight occasions.
