Final Score: LA Angels of Anaheim 11, Atlanta 6 (13 innings)
Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Kole Calhoun's go-ahead single sparked a five-run 13th inning as the LA Angels of Anaheim topped the Atlanta Braves, 11-6, in the middle installment of a three-game set on Saturday.
With the game tied at six apiece in the 13th inning, Erick Aybar singled, C.J. Wilson walked and Chris Iannetta was hit by a pitch to load the bases off David Hale (2-1). After John McDonald popped up, B.J. Upton dove and missed Calhoun's liner in center which drove in Aybar.
Trout's two-run double down the left-field line ended Hale's outing and Albert Pujols greeted Shae Simmons with a two-run single to account for the final score.
"We never quit, they never quit," said Trout. "You've got to give them props. They scored four runs and put pressure on us. We kept battling, put ourselves in a good position and we won the game."
Trout and Pujols both had three hits, a home run, four RBI and two runs scored for the Angels, who have won six of their last eight. Aybar went 4-for-6 and scored twice.
