San Diego, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Diego Padres have extended their player development agreement with Triple-A El Paso for another two years.
The Padres moved their top affiliate to El Paso for the 2014 season after three years in Tucson. The extension will continue through the 2016 season.
"Triple-A is an important level in the development of our players, and we are fortunate to have a great partnership with the El Paso club," said Padres general manager A.J. Preller in a statement. "The Chihuahuas have created a special atmosphere at their new ballpark that makes for a unique game experience. We are looking forward to continuing our affiliation and building on a successful first year in El Paso."
