Parks tops Stoelting in playoff in New Hampshire

Goffstown, NH (SportsNetwork.com) - Sadena Parks made a par at the second playoff hole on Sunday and she defeated Jackie Stoelting to win the New England Charity Classic.

The duo finished up regulation play tied at 8-under 208 and they went to a sudden-death playoff starting on the 18th hole.

Both Parks and Stoelting poured in birdies at the 18th and they headed to the 17th for the second playoff hole. Stoelting tripped to a bogey, while Parks made par to earn her second victory in three weeks. Parks also won her last start at the Credit Union Challenge, which was her first career victory on the Symetra Tour.

Stoelting had the better round of the two on Sunday, shooting a 6-under 66 at Stonebridge Country Club. Parks finished her final round with a 5-under 67.

Parks started her round off right with a birdie, but she drained seven straight pars before making the turn with a bogey at No. 9, dropping her to even par on the day.

Parks got things going on the back nine, making birdies at 10, 13 and 15 to get to 6-under for the week. Parks came up clutch with back-to-back gains at 17 and 18, which proved to be huge as it forced a playoff.

Much like Parks, Stoelting was rather quiet on the front nine with just one birdie at No. 7 surrounded by eight pars. Stoelting got on a roll with four birdies in five holes at 10, 11, 12 and 14. Following three straight pars, she too made birdie at the par-5 last hole to also get to minus-8.

Lacey Agnew (67) and Lindy Duncan (68) ended tied for third at 7-under 209, while Jamie Hullett, Marissa Steen and Wei-Ling Hsu tied for fifth at minus-6. Hullett and Steen had matching 67s, while Hsu carded a 71.
