Martin vaults to 26th in world rankings
Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Mo Martin earned her first career win in style at the Ricoh Women's British Open on Sunday and that victory vaulted her to No. 26 in this week's women's world rankings.
Martin converted her first eagle of the season at the 18th hole on Sunday to finish the championship at 1-under and watched as no one was able to match her score to collect her first major title.
That win vaulted her 73 places in the rankings from 99th last week.
The top seven places remained the same as Stacy Lewis maintained the top spot ahead of Lydia Ko, Inbee Park, Suzann Pettersen, Lexi Thompson, Michelle Wie and Karrie Webb.
Shanshan Feng and So Yeon Ryu exchanged places with Feng inching up to eighth and Ryu dipping to ninth, while Anna Nordqvist and Cristie Kerr also swapped places to sit in 10th and 11th, respectively.
