White gave the Tar Heels a 7-0 lead midway through the opening frame with a
four-yard touchdown run.
A 48-yard kick from Chandler Catanzaro pulled Clemson to within 7-3 late in
the second quarter, but the Tar Heels pulled further ahead with just over a
minute to go in the half following a nine-yard scoring strike from Yates to
Jheranie Boyd.
The Tigers cut the North Carolina lead down to 14-10 late in the third stanza
with a 10-yard Jamie Harper run.
White found the end zone again late in the final period of play following a
26-yard scamper to give the Tar Heels a 21-10 edge, but the Tigers responded
less than a minute later with a 74-yard toss from Parker to Brown. A two-point
conversion attempt, however, failed, leaving the Tigers trailing by a 21-16
