Final Score: (16) Miami-Florida 30, Clemson 21

Clemson, SC (Sports Network) - Jacory Harris threw three of his four touchdown passes to Leonard Hankerson, and No. 16 Miami-Florida held on to defeat Clemson, 30-21, despite being kept out of the end zone in the second half in the ACC opener for both programs.

Harris completed only 13-of-33 passes for 205 yards and was intercepted twice, but Hankerson was his go-to target, catching seven balls for 147 yards to give the Hurricanes (3-1, 1-0 ACC) their second straight road win since a loss at Ohio State.

Kyle Parker had a tough day under center for the Tigers (2-2, 0-1), going 14- of-33 through the air with three interceptions and a lost fumble. Andre Ellington amassed 146 yards from scrimmage with three TDs in the loss, the team's second straight against a ranked opponent having dropped an overtime game at Auburn two weeks ago.

Trailing 27-21 with 8 1/2 minutes left in the game, Clemson had the ball at the Miami 20-yard line and opted to go for the first down on 4th-and-1.

Ellington, though, was stopped for no gain on a toss to the right, and the Hurricanes held the ball for the next 5:40, settling for a 29-yard Matt Bosher field goal for a 30-21 advantage.

Bosher made a huge tackle on the kickoff, stopping Marcus Gilchrist at the Miami 47. On the next play from scrimmage, Parker lost a fumble near midfield.

The 'Canes wound up punting the ball back with just over a minute left, and their defense capped a six-turnover effort by picking off Parker to seal the win.

"I thought we came in and hung in with them pretty well, but six turnovers is not how you win a game," Parker said.

Miami opened the scoring six minutes in when Harris found Hankerson wide open down the middle of the field for a TD on 3rd-and-14 from the Clemson 22.

Three minutes later, Ellington answered with a 71-yard rumble to paydirt, then capped a 10-play, 63-yard drive early in the second frame on a 14-yard draw.

On the third play of the next drive, Hankerson got behind the secondary and hauled in Harris' lofted pass for a 65-yard score to tie it.

The teams traded interceptions later in the second, with Marcus Forston's pick setting Miami up at the opposing 18. On the next play, Mike James came out of the backfield unaccounted for and caught an easy TD toss from Harris. The extra point was blocked.

Another Parker interception 24 seconds before halftime helped Miami extend its lead, as Hankerson caught a 22-yard pass prior to bringing in a seven-yard slant just past to goal line for a 27-14 cushion heading to the break.

"If we can keep creating turnovers, we are going to be better as a football team," Miami head coach Randy Shannon said. "That was huge for us."

Clemson won the field position battle in the third, and an Ellington-led 56- yard drive culminated in the running back taking a toss to the left side for a three-yard TD with under three minutes to play before the fourth.
