NCAA Game Summary - Boston College at Clemson

Clemson, SC (Sports Network) - C.J. Spiller accounted for 219 all-purpose yards in leading the Clemson Tigers to a 25-7 win over the Boston College Eagles in an ACC matchup at Clemson Memorial Stadium.

Spiller scored on a 77-yard punt return and also carried 17 times for 77 yards. Kicker Richard Jackson did the rest for Clemson (2-1, 1-1 ACC), as he tied a school record with six field goals.

BC (2-1, 0-1) quarterback Justin Tuggle had a rough game under center, completing just 4-of-20 passes for 23 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions.

Spiller got the Tigers on the board first with a dazzling 77-yard punt return at the 11:33 mark of the opening quarter.

Jackson accounted for the remainder of the first-half scoring with three field goals in the second quarter (23, 33, 32). The BC offense was held to minus-two yards of total offense in the first half, as the Tigers took a 16-0 lead into the locker room.

It was more of the same in the second half, as Jackson booted a 52-yarder to give the Tigers a 19-0 lead with 9:16 to play i the third quarter.

BC finally got onto the scoreboard when Tuggle found Justin Jarvis for a 13- yard touchdown pass early in the fourth quarter.

Following a play stoppage due to lightning, Jackson added field goals of 42 and 35 yards in the fourth quarter to secure the win and tie Jad Dean's school record set in 2005.

The game took lasted nearly five hours because of two weather delays. Spiller suffered an apparent foot injury during the game, although it is not believed to be serious.
