Insight: It speaks volumes as to how good the Washington rotation is that Roark, who was 15-10 with a 2.85 ERA and 1.09 WHIP, cannot get a starting spot in the playoffs. Stephen Strasburg, Jordan Zimmerman, Gio Gonzalez and Doug Fister will be the four playoff starters.

Insight: Roark (7-6, 3.12 ERA, 1.17 WHIP) was supposed to start Wednesday against the Orioles, but Tuesday's game was rained out and the Nats will keep Doug Fister on schedule. The Phillies are a much easier matchup for Roark in his final start of the first half.

Insight: It's Roark's first career shutout and also his first complete game. The right-hander has been impressive this year, providing a 2.76 ERA over 32 2/3 innings. It's going to be tough to top this outing but Roark will try to do just that next Saturday against the Phillies.
