Description: Former Browns tight end Benjamin Watson has agreed to a three-year contract with the Saints.
Insight: Watson (501 yards, three TD with Cleveland in 2012) won't have much fantasy significance in New Orleans unless Jimmy Graham suffers an injury. At age 32, Watson's best years are probably behind him.

1/4/2011 1:05:00 AM
Description: Watson caught seven passes for 67 yards on Sunday, finishing as the team reception leader for the season with 68.
Insight: Watson caught 19 more passes in his first season with the Browns than in any year as a Patriot. A big part of that was starting 16 games for the first time in his career. Watson just turned 30 in mid-December and stands as an attractive middle-round option in 2011 with a developing quarterback and the top athleticism he always carried. (RapidDraft.com)

12/26/2010 11:02:00 PM
Description: Watson caught just three passes for 22 yards on Sunday.
Insight: It's been a good season for Watson overall, though his numbers have proved inconsistent. (RapidDraft.com)

12/19/2010 11:02:00 PM
Description: Watson caught seven passes for 92 yards in Sunday's loss to the Bengals.
Insight: It was the second time in three weeks that Watson reached those numbers in each category. The tough thing is that he also had three games of one catch or fewer among the past seven. Given all the injuries to tight ends, though, he qualifies as a strong PPR option in general right now. (RapidDraft.com)

12/13/2010 11:01:00 AM
Description: A week after catching a season-high 10 passes, Watson grabbed just one despite a very favorable matchup in Buffalo.
Insight: It wasn't a terrific weather day, but the biggest factor here is that Watson's quarterback stinks. As If you're looking for consistency, look elsewhere. Watson is a risky upside play. (RapidDraft.com)

12/11/2010 1:03:00 AM
Description: Fellow Browns tight end Evan Moore is doubtful for Sunday because of a hip injury, which can only help Watson in an already favorable matchup with Buffalo.
Insight: Moore saw three targets in each of the past three games. Picking up any (or all?) of those certainly wouldn't hurt a guy who already caught 10 passes a week ago. (RapidDraft.com)

12/6/2010 12:01:00 PM
Description: Watson caught 10 passes for 100 yards and Cleveland's lone touchdown on Sunday.
Insight: The 10 catches were at least four more than Watson grabbed in any other game this season. It represents one-fifth of his season total. He caught one pass or fewer in three of the previous five games. (RapidDraft.com)

11/27/2010 11:02:00 PM
Description: Watson is expected to be a game-time decision in Week 12 after an ankle injury limited his practice participation all week.
Insight: Watson's recent inconsistency in targets makes him not worth waiting for on Sunday. If he's out, Evan Moore could be a deep fantasy option against Carolina. (RapidDraft.com)

11/22/2010 12:05:00 AM
Description: Watson saw just one target on Sunday and was held without a catch for the first time this season.
Insight: Watson has proved the team's most dependable target other than Peyton Hillis but has also seen his usage dwindle recently. Watson isn't a strong fantasy option right now. (RapidDraft.com)

11/21/2010 2:34:00 PM
Description: Browns TE Ben Watson injured his right ankle in the first quarter against the Jaguars.
Insight: Update: Watson was out for a bit and has now returned.

11/15/2010 11:05:00 AM
Description: Watson drew a team-high 10 targets in Sunday's loss to the Jets and paced the Browns with five catches and 74 receiving yards.
Insight: The speedy tight end is Cleveland's best receiving option. His production will be limited only by a lack of other options to draw defensive attention and the inherent inconsistency of a rookie quarterback. (RapidDraft.com)

10/4/2010 12:05:00 AM
Description: Watson led Cleveland receivers with six catches and 60 yards in Sunday's victory over Cincinnati. He has averaged 56 yards in three games with Seneca Wallace after going for 19 with Jake Delhomme in Week 1.
Insight: Watson has increased his reception total by one each week, starting with three in the opener. At this rate, he'll put up 17 catches in Week 16, just in time for fantasy championship games. In reality, he's a decent PPR option at tight end -- seemingly more decent with Wallace on the field. (RapidDraft.com)

9/27/2010 1:00:00 AM
Description: Watson caught five passes for 47 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss at Baltimore.
Insight: Cleveland's weak receiving corps adds fantasy intrigue to the team's starting tight end. He has averaged a solid four catches through the first three games. (RapidDraft.com)

9/19/2010 5:48:00 PM
Description: Only if you are in a deep league and you need a solid backup TE, you might want to consider Cleveland's Ben Watson (12 targets, 7 receptions, 78 yards).
Insight: With little talent at the WR position in Cleveland, Watson might become a favorite target. And with Evan Moore ailing with a head injury, Watson might become the every-down starter for a while.

7/26/2010 10:57:00 PM
Description: Ben Watson is the heavy favorite to be the Browns' No. 1 tight end this season.
Insight: That?s fine, but no one is going to confuse him with the second coming of Kellen Winslow, either. The Browns will have enough trouble generating a passing game without trying to also fit the tight end position into the scheme. (sportsBuff.com)

7/26/2010 1:33:00 PM
Description: It's being reported that Browns TE Ben Watson is the heavy favorite to be the team's No. 1 tight end this season. SOURCE: AKRON BEACON-JOURNAL
Insight: Watson signed a pretty big contract for a reason. We will see some Evan Moore in the offense to, but neither are great fantasy options.

3/12/2010 8:06:00 PM
Description: The browns signed Watson to a contract on Thursday.
Insight: Watson may be one of the few players whose fantasy value will go up due to being in Cleveland. There's no long passing game to speak of or reliable receivers to steal looks, so he could end up being their top weapon. (Sportsbuff.com)

3/8/2010 10:16:00 AM
Description: The Olympian reports the Seahawks will host Watson some time this week.
Insight: The Patriots don't seem to making a major effort to retain Watson, so he is almost certain to be in another uniform in 2010. (SportsBuff.com)

3/6/2010 12:57:00 PM
Description: Watson is scheduled to meet with the Seahawks on Monday.
Insight: Interesting as Watson still has gas left in the tank. However, it's uncertain how he would fit in as Seattle already has a pretty good tight end in John Carlson. (SportsBuff.com)

3/1/2010 9:57:00 PM
Description: Watson and the Patriots are expected to part ways.
Insight: At this point in his career, Watson is a crafty vet who could bring tremendous value in the right set of circumstances. He's a sleeper guy to target on draft day. (SportsBuff.com)
