Description: Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. caught three passes for 44 yards and a touchdown.
Insight: Joe Flacco did not concentrate on any one receiver, so no pass catcher for the Ravens stood out statistically. Smith caught the second touchdown of the game, so his owners were still pleased with the performance since he found the end zone.

1/4/2015 9:17:00 AM
Description: Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. posted his first 100-yard game since Week 6 in the first round of the playoffs against Pittsburgh.
Insight: Smith caught five of his seven targets for 101 yards. After about a two-month lull, Smith has become a force again starting last week with eight catches for 90 yards and now this effort. It will be key to next week's fantasy value to figure out whether Darrelle Revis will be assigned to Torrey Smith or Steve Smith.

12/28/2014 4:51:00 PM
Description: Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. led Baltimore with eight catches and 90 yards on Sunday.
Insight: Smith caught eight of his 12 targets to eclipse the 1,000 receiving mark and finished with 79 receptions for the season. Not bad for a supposedly washed up 35-year-old.

12/21/2014 5:13:00 PM
Description: Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. did not do much on Sunday.
Insight: Smith finished with five receptions for 49 yards on 12 targets. He is 25 yards shy of 1,000 yards on the season.

12/14/2014 6:39:00 PM
Description: Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. disappeared again in Week 15.
Insight: Last week, Smith had five catches for 70 yards, but he did very little against the Jaguars. Smith had five catches for 37 yards. Torrey Smith was even worse with two catches and 16 yards.

12/7/2014 6:37:00 PM
Description: Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. had seven receptions for 70 yards in Sunday's win against Miami.
Insight: He also scored a touchdown, and is a Wr3 for the time being.

11/30/2014 6:43:00 PM
Description: Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. continues to slump late in this season.
Insight: Smith had just four targets in Week 13 and caught one of them for two yards. Smith has 54 receptions for 819 yards and five touchdowns this season, but in he last six weeks, Smith has just 24 receptions for 246 yards and one touchdown.

11/25/2014 9:13:00 AM
Description: Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. was big early, with a touchdown and 69 yards at the half, but didn't do much after the break
Insight: Smith looked like he was going to go revert to his early season production, but Torrey Smith was more active after halftime. Steve Smith had four 100-yard games in the first six contests, but hasn't posted triple-digits since Week 6.

Cold11/9/2014 6:52:00 PM
Description: Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. managed only 17 receiving yards on Sunday.
Insight: Smith had three receptions, and will now look to rebound in Week 12, when Baltimore comes off their bye.

Cold11/3/2014 9:58:00 AM
Description: Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. managed only 36 receiving yards on Sunday.
Insight: He had five receptions on eight targets. Unfortunately, Joe Flacco spread the ball to 10 different receivers and Smith couldn't get anything going.

10/26/2014 6:53:00 PM
Description: Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. managed only 35 receiving yards on Sunday.
Insight: He had three receptions, but will look to get back on track in Week 9. Smith is still a solid WR2 play.

10/26/2014 12:10:00 PM
Description: Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. was on the injury report earlier in the week, but he's active for Week 8.
Insight: He was kind of the forgotten man in the Ravens receiving core in Week 7, but he still put up a decent total for fantasy purposes.

10/19/2014 6:16:00 PM
Description: Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. caught three passes for 67 yards.
Insight: He was kind of the forgotten man in the Ravens receiving core in Week 7, but he still put up a decent total for fantasy purposes.

10/12/2014 5:27:00 PM
Description: Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. continued his stellar play this season.
Insight: After a down game in Week 5, Smith was back at it, with five catches for 110 yards, and a touchdown. He has been one of the biggest, pleasant surprises in fantasy football, in 2014.

10/5/2014 6:18:00 PM
Description: Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. understandably had a quiet day after the emotional game against Carolina in Week 4.
Insight: Smith caught five of seven targets, but nothing exiting came from it as Flacco shared the wealth evenly between Owen Daniels, Justin Forsett, Torrey and Steve Smith. All had at least seven targets

9/28/2014 5:16:00 PM
Description: Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. caught seven passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns.
Insight: Smith was clearly pumped to play his old team and led the Ravens with 10 targets. He is probably the biggest sleeper of the draft so far. Continue to plug him into your starting lineup and if you haven't done that already, then what are you waiting for?

9/21/2014 5:25:00 PM
Description: Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. continues to be Joe Flacco's favorite target.
Insight: After a five-catch, 101 yard performance on Sunday, Smith now has 18 receptions for 290 yards and one touchdown, in 2014. Owners who took a gamble on Smith for their bench, are extremely happy, as long as he was inserted into the starting lineup.

3/14/2014 6:17:00 PM
Description: Steve Smith is now a member of the Ravens. He signed a three-year, $11 million contract with Baltimore on Friday, one day after being released by the Panthers.
Insight: Smith had just 745 yards and four scores on 64 catches (11.6 ypc) in 15 games last season and enters a passing offense that isn't very prolific. He'll serve as the third option for QB Joe Flacco behind Torrey Smith and Dennis Pitta.

3/13/2014 8:57:00 PM
Description: The Panthers officially released their longtime No. 1 wideout Steve Smith on Thursday.
Insight: The 34-year-old's career was revitalized when Carolina drafted QB Cam Newton and he put up 2,568 yards and 11 touchdowns on 152 catches in 2011-12, but he had just 745 yards and four scores on 64 catches (11.6 ypc) in 15 games last season. The Ravens are the favorite to land the veteran, but he's unlikely to carry much fantasy value as a third option behind Torrey Smith and Dennis Pitta. As we just saw for years in Houston, new Ravens offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak's offense heavily features the tight end and No. 1 receiver but not the No. 2 wideout.

3/12/2014 3:03:00 PM
Description: According to his agent, Steve Smith has played his last game with the Panthers. SOURCE: Associated Press
Insight: Carolina is trying to trade him, though that could be difficult given Smith's age (34) and his $7 million salary. We're guessing he'll be cut sometime in the next few days. When that happens, look for the Buccaneers and Raiders to be among the teams interested.
