Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch carried the ball just six times, for 36 yards, but at least he helped fantasy owners with a touchdown reception.
Insight: It's hard to believe Seattle used their best weapon so little. It's been three years since Lynch was used so infrequently. They lost that game in Week 2 of 2011, too.

Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch opened the 2014 NFL regular season with a bang - rushing for 110 yards and two scores.
Insight: Lynch is tough enough to bring down, but when the Seahawks used Percy Harvin as a decoy it frequently left Lynch with plenty of running room.

Description: According to the Seattle Times, police officers are investigating Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch after receiving an "allegation of an assault and personal property damage" from a female victim at an apartment in Bellevue, Washington.
Insight: Police said the alleged incident was reported to have occurred Sunday morning, but "no domestic violence or sexual assault was involved in the allegation." Lynch has had several run-ins with the law since he came into the NFL in 2007 -- his driver's license was revoked in 2008 for a hit-and-run incident, he was arrested during a traffic stop for having a gun in his trunk in 2009 and he was arrested again in 2012 for suspicion of DUI. He was suspended the first three games of 2009 by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for the second incident.

8/10/2014 8:37:00 PM
Description: According to the Seattle Times, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said running back Marshawn Lynch is "in really good shape."
Insight: Lynch skipped OTAs, minicamp and the first week of training camp, so it's good to see he's remained in shape. Carroll said the running back has dropped a little weight. Lynch was reportedly the most active he has been in camp during Sunday's practice. While Christine Michael is a threat to steal carries, Lynch is still an RB1.

Description: According to ProFootballTalk.com, the Seahawks agreed to raise Marshawn Lynch's base salary for 2014 from $5 million to $6 million and give him a $500,000 signing bonus.
Insight: Lynch had no leverage to get a new contract, but he ended up getting something out of his holdout. That should tell fantasy owners that the Seahawks still consider Lynch a big part of the equation and wanted to get him in camp as quickly as possible. Lynch isn't going to see 337 touches again like he did last year, but he'll still be heavily involved. Three hundred touches plus all the goal-line work will keep Lynch in the RB1 group.

7/31/2014 3:30:00 PM
Description: Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch has decided to end his holdout, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Insight: Lynch had absolutely no leverage to get a new contract. He's already set to earn $5.5 million in salary and bonuses this season and the Seahawks have potential star Christine Michael behind him. Lynch isn't going to see 337 touches again like he did last year, but he'll still be heavily involved. Three hundred touches plus all the goal-line work will keep Lynch in the RB1 group.

7/24/2014 7:40:00 PM
Description: Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch is now expected to hold out while he seeks a new contract.
Insight: Sounds like Lynch got a look at the Jamaal Charles deal and wants to get a bigger and better deal too. Lynch has been worked hard the past three seasons (901 carries) and is smart to want to get a deal done now before anything changes.

7/16/2014 4:25:00 PM
Description: Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times predicts Marshawn Lynch will still be the focal point of the Seahawks' offense in 2014 but that he'll lose a few carries per game to Christine Michael.
Insight: Lynch averaged 18.8 carries per game last season and Condotta predicts he'll be around 15-16 this year which will put him at 240-256 for the entire season. Lynch will still get all the goal-line work so he shouldn't drop out of the first round in fantasy drafts.

6/17/2014 6:24:00 PM
Description: Seattle halfback Marshawn Lynch arrived to mandatory minicamp Tuesday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
Insight: Lynch didn't show up to voluntary OTAs because he wants to rework his contract and there was even a report from Rapoport last week that he was mulling retirement. According to ESPN, Lynch believes the Seahawks will negotiate with him in good faith because he showed up to minicamp. With Seattle OC Darrell Bevell mentioning that he wanted to use a committee at running back this season and a contract dispute looming, Lynch could be a riskier pick than expected in fantasy leagues.

6/12/2014 8:44:00 PM
Description: Seattle halfback Marshawn Lynch isn't happy about his contract situation and is considering sitting out next week's mandatory mini-camp.
Insight: NFL Network's Ian Rapoport even said retirement could be an option for Lynch. This would be a massive blow to the Seahawks and fantasy owners alike. Lynch logged 1,257 yards on 301 carries last season while leading Seattle to its first Super Bowl. He's only 28.

6/10/2014 8:14:00 PM
Description: Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said last week that the team would use a "running back by committee" in 2014, but he backtracked from that comment Monday, according to beat writer John Boyle.
Insight: Bevell said he meant that he would be using a committee in OTAs rather than during the season. Marshawn Lynch has handled an average of 329 touches the last three seasons but may drop to 285 this year as the team gets 2013 second-round pick Christine Michael more involved.

Description: Despite logging 300+ carries in each of his last two seasons, the Seahawks have no plans to reduce Marshawn Lynch's workload in 2014. SOURCE: Seahawks.com
Insight: Lynch has shown a remarkable level of resilience the last few seasons but eventually the huge workload is bound to catch up with him. Hopefully that doesn't happen in 2014 but fantasy owners need to be prepared.

2/20/2014 9:24:00 PM
Description: Seahawks halfback Marshawn Lynch will plead guilty to reckless driving. The charge stems from a 2012 DUI arrest. SOURCE: Terry Blount, ESPN
Insight: His punishment will be a fine and two years probation. Lynch's lawyer believes he'll be able to avoid suspension by the NFL. Assuming that's the case, Lynch (1,257 rushing yards, 12 TD in 2013) should be a top-ten selection in all fantasy leagues this summer.

1/30/2014 12:12:00 PM
Description: Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch sat out Wednesday's practice but it looks like he's just getting some extra rest.
Insight: Lynch has run for 249 yards and three touchdowns in his two playoff games this season. He's still a fantasy "beast" and the Super Bowl won't be any different. The Seahawks will want to keep the ball out of Peyton Manning's hands and the best way to do that is with Lynch rushing at least 25 times.

12/15/2013 12:05:00 PM
Description: Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch sat out some practice time with a shoulder injury, but he's active for Sunday as expected.
Insight: He's a fantasy "beast" with 1,042 yards rushing, 234 receiving and 12 touchdowns. That shouldn't change in Week 15.

12/12/2013 2:30:00 PM
Description: Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch sat out Wednesday's practice with a shoulder injury.
Insight: We don't think its too serious, but continue to watch to make sure he gets in at least one practice this week. He's a fantasy "beast" with 1,042 yards rushing, 234 receiving and 12 touchdowns.

11/10/2013 6:26:00 PM
Description: Seattle half back Marshawn Lynch generated 145 yards on the ground Sunday in an easy win over Atlanta.
Insight: He also added his eighth touchdown of the season. The 27-year-old is on pace for 1,394 rushing yards this year, which would be the second-highest output of his career.

10/30/2013 7:59:00 PM
Description: Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch did not practice Wednesday due to a knee injury, according to Liz Mathews of 710 ESPN Seattle.
Insight: Seattle coach Pete Caroll did not mention any knee issues with Lynch during his Wednesday press conference. Lynch often doesn't practice on Wednesday's anyway for rest, but when that happens he's listed as NIR (not injury related).

10/15/2013 8:20:00 PM
Description: Seahawks halfback Marshawn Lynch didn't practice Tuesday due to a hip injury.
Insight: He missed practice time last week for the same reason but had 155 total yards and two touchdowns Sunday against the Titans. He's in no danger of missing Thursday's game against the Cardinals.

10/13/2013 7:42:00 PM
Description: Seahawks halfback Marshawn Lynch steamrolled the Titans on Sunday (21 carries, 77 yards, 2 TD, 4 rec, 78 yds).
Insight: It wasn't one of Lynch's more efficient efforts (just 3.7 ypc) but his two touchdowns are sure to have fantasy owners smiling. Week in and week out, Lynch continues to be one of fantasy's most consistent point producers at the running back position.
