Description: Steelers QB Charlie Batch completed 20-of-34 for 197 yards with zero touchdowns and three picks Sunday against the Browns.
Insight: Batch targeted Mike Wallace six times but couldn't complete any of them. Pittsburgh ended up turning the ball over eight times, including a lost fumble by all four Steelers running backs (Rashard Mendenhall, Isaac Redman, Jonathan Dwyer, Chris Rainey).

Description: Third-stringer Charlie Batch will get the start at QB Sunday when the Steelers take on the Browns.
Insight: Batch, who has not made an appearance for the Steelers yet in 2012, completed 15-of-24 passes for 208 yards and an interception in limited playing time last season. There have been rumblings that Ben Roethlisberger could be back as soon as Week 13, so there's a good chance this will be Batch's only game of the season.

Description: Batch has been named Pittsburgh's Week 4 starter, an unsurprising move after the veteran tossed three touchdown passes against the Bucs on Sunday.
Insight: Don't expect more of the same against the Ravens. Tampa's defense is iffy to begin with and was playing without FS Tanard Jackson for the first time. Batch is not a real fantasy starter option. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: Batch threw for just 186 yards and was picked twice Sunday at Tampa Bay, but he also hit on three scoring passes.
Insight: The Bucs defense isn't tough this year, but it was nice of Batch to help owners of Hines Ward and Mike Wallace. It's tough to expect as much against the Ravens in Week 4, however. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: Batch has been named Pittsburgh's Week 3 starter.
Insight: If that seems relevant to your fantasy team, go back and look at his Week 2 line after stepping in for an injured Dennis Dixon. Steelers receivers remain risky no matter who's under center. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: According to some Steelers players, HC Mike Tomlin plans to start QB Charlie Batch for Week Three against the Buccaneers. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Leftwich should be given a look considering how bad Batch looked in relief of Dennis Dixon. Either way, we expect a lot of Rashard Mendenhall against the Bucs.

9/20/2010 2:02:00 PM
Description: Batch offered nothing more than Dennis Dixon on Sunday after replacing the youngster following a knee injury. Batch threw for just 25 yards on 11 attempts and matched Dixon's two fumbles, though the Steelers didn't lose either.
Insight: Batch and Dixon combined Sunday to make a strong case for Byron Leftwich as Week 3 starter. (RapidDraft.com)

3/26/2010 8:20:00 PM
Description: The Steelers resigned Charlie Batch to a two year contract.
Insight: Batch knows the Steelers offense so, even though he is 35 and his skills have declined, he would still be a viable backup at this point in his career. He would have to beat out Dennis Dixon, though, to earn the position.

Steady4/29/2009 9:55:00 AM
Description: Batch did not appear in any games in 2008 because the Steelers had Byron Leftwich as their backup.
Insight: The 11-year veteran out of Eastern Michigan has always had a nice moxy to his game. If anything happens to Ben Roethlisberger, he could see game action again. (SportsBuff.com)
