Description: The Eagles and starting left tackle Jason Peters have agreed to a four-year contract extension. SOURCE: Adam Schefter, ESPN
Insight: The new deal is worth $41.3 million. Peters would have been a free agent after the 2014 campaign but now he's under contract until 2018. The 32-year-old has been to six Pro Bowls in his last seven seasons.

Description: Eagles tackle Jason Peters will undergo surgery next week for the ruptured right Achilles he suffered in a workout. Rehab time is normally nine months to a year.
Insight: Losing an All-Pro tackle is a blow to both Michael Vick's protection and the blocking in front of LeSean McCoy. Happening in mid-March at least gives the team a chance to recover either with a drafted player or through free agency.

Description: Philly.com reports Peters (left knee) is headed for an MRI on his sprained left knee.
Insight: The MRI results should shed more light on Peters' status going forward. (RapidDraft.com)

Description: Peters (ankle) left Sunday night's game against Dallas with an ankle injury.
Insight: It is not known right now if Peters will return to the game, but the Eagles will miss their starting LT as they try to keep Cowboy's LB DeMarcus Ware at bay. (SportsBuff.com)

Questionable10/19/2009 5:03:00 PM
Description: According to Pro Football Talk.com, Eagles' head coach Andy Reid expects Peters (left knee/ankle) to play next Monday night against Washington.
Insight: Peters has reportedly been diagnosed with a left knee contusion and ankle sprain. The extra day could help him be ready to go and take his post as the Eagles' starting LT against the struggling Redskins. (SportsBuff.com)

Description: Buffalo will be without starting left tackle Jason Peters for today's visit by the Patriots. Peters' knee sprain doesn't do anything to help the value of Marshawn Lynch or Trent Edwards and helps turn New England's Jarvis Green into an IDP sleeper. The Bills were without Peters last week when they scored 30 at Denver, but the Broncos have one of the league's weakest defenses. (SportsBuff.com)
