Description: Harris signed his franchise tender with the Jets on Wednesday.
Insight: We'll see exactly what that means when all the labor strife is sorted out, but Harris seems likely to stick around with the Jets. The versatile inside performer is a top IDP option. (

Description: LB David Harris has been designated the Jets' franchise player. SOURCE: TWITTER
Insight: Harris has amassed triple-digit sack totals three out of the past four years and has led the team in tackles over the last two. A key cog in the Jets Defense, it makes sense for him to be franchised over offensive free agents Santonio Holmes and Braylon Edwards. Harris will make roughly $10 million if a new extension isn't worked out before the start of the regular season.

Description: The agent for ILB David Harris confirmed that no long-term deal with the Jets is expected until after the NFL's labor uncertainty is lifted.
Insight: The Jets are slowly getting their ducks in a row and putting the core players under contract. Harris will be given every consideration as soon as they are in a position to sign him. (

Description: The Jets are expected to wait until after the season to address a new contract for ILB David Harris.
Insight: Boy, the Jets sure have a lot of messy contract situations, don't they? Harris won't come cheaply and he is a fantastic IDP player to boot. (

Description: ILB David Harris became the latest Jet to express hope that he gets a new contract this offseason.
Insight: This story bears watching as the Jets have a horrible track record when it comes to keeping players happy in terms of contracts. Harris is an IDP player of great regard and is a tackling machine. (

Description: Harris (ankle) is listed as probable for Sunday's game.
Insight: This good news for the Jets defense as Harris is an important part of their run stopping prowess. (

Description: The NY Daily News reports that Harris will return to every-down duties on Sunday against the Chargers.
Insight: Harris had been battling an ankle injury but finally seems to be getting close to 100 percent. (

Description: Harris (ankle) is listed as questionable for the wild card game against the Bengals.
Insight: Both he and the team are saying he'll play, so that's definitely great news for owners of the Jets' team defense. Harris is their leading tackler and the job of limiting Cedric Benson would have been much tougher without him in the lineup. (

Description: Harris had 11 tackles during the Jets' 24-7 win against the Texans on Sunday. He also had a sack in the game.
Insight: Harris should benefit from playing in Rex Ryan's defense, playing a similar role to what Ray Lewis did in Baltimore. (

Description: According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Denver Broncos would ask for Harris in return in any trade scenario involving WR Brandon Marshall.
Insight: It still seems unlikely that Marshall gets traded, but he may be leaving the Broncos no choice. The Jets do have a need at wide receiver. (
