Description: Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara, who left Saturday's preseason game with a groin injury and is probable for the opener against Detroit.
Insight: Amukamura started all 16 games last season and said he planned to be ready for Week 1. Given the Lions passing game, the Giants need him out there to help keep Calvin Johnson & Co. under control.

Description: Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara, who left Sunday's game with a concussion, returned to practice on Friday.
Insight: Facing a Broncos' team with Peyton Manning throwing to Demaryius Thomas, Wes Welker, Eric Decker and tight end Julis Thomas the Giants will need every defensive back they can get. The return of Amukamura would be a huge boost to the New York's chances of slowing Manning & Co. down.

Description: New York Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara (hamstring) will not play Sunday against Atlanta. He'll be joined on the sidelines by safeties Kenny Phillips and Tyler Sash.
Insight: The Giants better get a big pass rush this week otherwise their secondary could be in for a long day facing Julio Jones, Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez.
