Description: The Giants officially placed wide receiver Victor Cruz on injured reserve to end his season.
Insight: Cruz tore his right patellar tendon on Sunday night against the Eagles. He should be ready for training camp next year, but there is a high chance that Cruz will never be the same since the injury is going to affect his cutting ability. Rookie Odell Beckham Jr. will start in place of Cruz.

Insight: Cruz also did the salsa as he scored his first touchdown of the season. Eli Manning and Cruz failed in the first two games to build any kind of chemistry, but Cruz caught five of his six targets on Sunday.

Insight: While Cruz was more productive, the entire Giants team is feeling the effects of a lousy offensive line. Cruz should still see a ton of targets, and be valuable in PPR leagues, however, finding the end zone in 2014 could be an issue. Cruz is no more than a WR3 moving forward.

Insight: He had an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee. Sunday against Detroit will be the first game Cruz has missed in three NFL seasons. He'll finish the year with 73 catches, four touchdowns and 998 receiving yards.

Insight: If true, Cruz will finish the season two yards short of his third consecutive 1,000-yard season. The Giants have little to play for and probably won't take any chances with their best offensive weapon.

Description: According to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News, Giants coach Tom Coughlin said both Victor Cruz (heel) and Jason Pierre-Paul (back) "are full speed ahead."
Insight: Both players practiced Wednesday ahead of New York's Week 1 game against the Cowboys Sunday night. Cruz should be inserted in all fantasy lineups.
