Description: New England QB Tom Brady has agreed to a three-year, $27 million contract extension.
Insight: Brady's contract runs out at the end of the 2017 season. Brady will be 40 by then, which means he'll probably retire as a Patriot. The move is significant because it opens up about $15 million in cap room over the next two seasons. New England can use some of that money to re-sign free agents Wes Welker and Aqib Talib later this offseason.

Description: Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been fined $10,000 for sliding "aggressively" into Baltimore safety Ed Reed in Sunday night's AFC Championship.
Insight: A QB getting fined for a hit on a defender? That's a new one. Brady was invited to compete in the Pro Bowl this week but decided to skip the game because of an "undisclosed" injury. Colts quarterback Andrew Luck was added to the roster to take his place.

1/13/2013 9:14:00 PM
Description: New England QB Tom Brady dominated the Texans for 344 yards and three touchdowns Sunday in the second round of the AFC Playoffs.
Insight: New England's hurry-up offense was just too much for Houston. Sunday Brady will play the Ravens in a rematch of last year's AFC Championship game. Brady struggled in that game (239 yards, two interceptions) but played much better when he faced them back in Week 3 (335 yards and a touchdown).

Cold12/23/2012 5:59:00 PM
Description: Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had another up and down game against the Jaguars on Sunday. He finished with 267 yards passing on two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Insight: Brady has put together another strong season (4,543 yards, 32 TD) but he won't come close to the numbers he racked up in 2011 (5,235 yards, 39 TD).

10/28/2012 5:04:00 PM
Description: New England QB Tom Brady has been steady this season but didn't have many spectacular performances until Sunday against the Rams. Brady torched St. Louis in London for 304 yards and four touchdowns on 23-of-35 passing.
Insight: Brady will head into New England's bye week with 16 passing scores in eight games.

10/15/2012 10:59:00 AM
Description: New England QB Tom Brady threw a season-high two interceptions and turned in his lowest QB rating of the year Sunday in a one-point loss to the Seahawks.
Insight: Despite the uneven performance, Brady still managed to throw for 300 yards passing, the fourth time he's been able to accomplish that in his last five starts.

9/30/2012 4:34:00 PM
Description: New England quarterback Tom Brady led a second-half massacre with 199 yards on 12-of-18 passing after the break as the Patriots throttled Buffalo by a score of 52-28.
Insight: Brady (340 passing yards, 120.1 QB rating) only threw for 141 yards on 10-of-18 passing in the first two quarters but he was brilliant after half-time, tossing for three scores and running for another. Wes Welker led the team in receptions with nine catches for 129 yards, his second straight game with 100-plus yards. After a few hiccups in Weeks 2 and 3, it looks like the high-powered Pats are back to their dominant selves again.

9/16/2012 6:05:00 PM
Description: Quarterback Tom Brady wasn't sharp Sunday but he did throw a fourth-quarter touchdown to Rob Gronkowski to salvage a disappointing game.
Insight: Brady also exceeded 300 yards as a consolation, but he was picked off on his first pass of the game and never really got into a rhythm against an underrated Cardinals defense.

9/9/2012 4:17:00 PM
Description: Quarterback Tom Brady was solid in New England's season-opening win over the Titans. He completed 23 of 31 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns. Brady did not throw an interception.
Insight: That computes to a quarterback rating of 117.1. Brady's most targeted receiver Sunday was Brandon Lloyd, who he threw to on eight occasions. Next up for Brady and company will be Arizona in Week 2.

8/20/2012 8:12:00 PM
Description: Quarterback Tom Brady is among several New England Patriots who will not be on the field for Monday night's exhibition against the Eagles.
Insight: With three games coming up in the next nine days, the Patriots need to be smart about avoiding injuries so it's no surprise that Brady isn't in the lineup Monday. Wes Welker, Brandon Lloyd and Aaron Hernandez won't be suiting up for the Pats either. We'll probably see Brady and company back in action Friday night against Tampa Bay.

8/9/2012 10:01:00 PM
Description: In his first taste of preseason action, New England quarterback Tom Brady went four for seven for 30 yards and lost a fumble.
Insight: Brady didn't look particularly sharp Thursday but that's to be expected in his first game in over six months. Plus the two-time MVP was only the field for two series, which isn't really enough time to get into a rhythm. Expect him to be the same dominant quarterback he's always been once the regular season gets underway in September.

3/22/2012 5:13:00 PM
Description: Tom Brady had his contract restructured to free up $7.2 million in cap space for the Patriots.
Insight: Brady has always been a team player and this move should allow the Patriots to land another top-tier free agent. New England has already had a busy offseason, signing receivers Brandon Lloyd, Anthony Gonzalez and Donte Stallworth to new deals. Some of this additional $7.2 million could very well go to Wes Welker, who is working with the Patriots on a contract extension.

Description: Patriots QB Tom Brady's surgery to repair a stress fracture in his foot required the implantation of a screw, which is expected to present a "formidable recovery." SOURCE: ESPN BOSTON
Insight: The procedure is "not a big ordeal," but Brady will have to wait awhile on rehab because, according to ESPN's Dr. Michael Kaplan, "you don't want the screw to break. If you break the screw, it would be horrific." Brady is fully expected to be ready by training camp, but he isn't expected to be ahead of schedule in any form of rehabilitation until his foot is fully healed. Brady was in some hot water a couple years ago after beginning rehab too soon after knee surgery, which caused an infection that required more surgery.

Description: Patriots QB Tom Brady is expected to undergo surgery Thursday to repair a stress fracture in his right foot. SOURCE: BOSTON GLOBE
Insight: The injury happened before the start of the 2010 season, but he still managed to lead the team to a solid 14-2 record. Brady was originally expected to start for the AFC in the Pro Bowl, but will be replaced by Chiefs QB Matt Cassel. Brady's surgery will have zero affect on his fantasy value in 2011.

Description: Updating a previous headline, it was confirmed that Patriots QB Tom Brady played the 2010 season with a stress fracture in his foot. SOURCE: COMCAST SPORTS NEW ENGLAND
Insight: It's a moot point with the Pats knocked out of the playoffs, but the injury was said to not have had much of an affect on Brady's performance against the Jets, or his entire season after going 14-2. Brady will still start in the Pro Bowl.

1/19/2011 1:30:00 PM
Description: Two sources are reporting that Patriots QB Tom Brady suffered a foot injury either before or during the game against the Jets. SOURCE: WEEI.COM
Insight: It's believed to be a fracture, but there aren't any other reports from the New England media to back up the claim. If he was injured, he didn't let it show Sunday. Now that the Patriots are out of the playoffs, he can take some time off to rest.

1/18/2011 12:03:00 AM
Description: Brady's first-quarter interception Sunday came after his record 335 regular-season pass attempts without a pick.
Insight: He didn't play a good game overall but still finished with 299 yards and two touchdowns. Brady figures to stay among the first four quarterbacks drafted in 2011 fantasy leagues. (RapidDraft.com)

1/2/2011 3:53:00 PM
Description: Pats QB Tom Brady is out of the game (Week 17) for good, replaced by Brian Hoyer.
Insight: Brady came out with about 10 minutes left in the 3rd quarter.

1/2/2011 3:17:00 PM
Description: Patriots QB Tom Brady was temporarily benched midway through the second quarter against the Dolphins, but ended up coming back in. SOURCE: NFL.COM
Insight: Only Bill Belichick would keep going with Brady in a meaningless game. But now that the Pats are up 24-0 going into the second half, Brady should be done for good. He should finish with 123 yards passing and a touchdown.

1/1/2011 4:05:00 PM
Description: Brady says he'll play against the Dolphins on Sunday despite his team already having the No. 1 seed clinched.
Insight: Brady attempted 26 passes in Week 17 last year in a game his team didn't need. His owners should expect at least a decent passing workload in the game. (RapidDraft.com)
