Description: The Jets claimed running back Daryl Richardson off waivers from the Rams on Friday.
Insight: Richardson was waived Thursday. St. Louis handed him the starting job following the departure of Steven Jackson, but he averaged just 3.1 ypc and lost the job to Zac Stacy. He's not guaranteed to make the Jets roster, as New York has Chris Johnson, Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell on the roster.

Insight: Richardson had a solid rookie season (475 rushing yards, 4.8 yards per carry) but couldn't get anything going in his sophomore campaign (215 yards, 3.1 ypc). The Rams are expected to go with Zac Stacy on early downs with rookie Tre Mason filling a third down/change of pace role. Isaiah Pead and Benny Cunningham are also on the roster.

Insight: Richardson's fantasy value has evaporated in the wake of Zac Stacy's second half explosion. Even in deeper leagues, it's a mistake to keep him on your roster.

Cold11/10/2013 11:39:00 AM
Description: St. Louis running back Daryl Richardson is inactive for Week 10.
Insight: With the way Zac Stacy has taken over at running back for the Rams, hardly anyone will notice that Richardson isn't on the field.

Description: St. Louis running back Daryl Richardson said on Twitter that he was not starting in Week 5 against Jacksonville.
Insight: With Isaiah Pead a healthy scratch last week, it would appear as if Benny Cunningham might get the start in a favorable matchup against the 32nd-ranked run defense (164.2 ypg). Whichever back gets the call, he could be a viable fantasy option.

Description: St. Louis halfback Daryl Richardson didn't play much in Week 3 but he says he's "good to go" for Thursday's game against San Francisco. SOURCE: ESPN.com
Insight: A foot injury limited Richardson to one snap in Sunday's loss to Dallas. So far, he's produced 98 rushing yards on 30 carries this season. Isaiah Pead and Benny Cunningham will split carries if Richardson decides later that he can't suit up.

9/22/2013 5:08:00 PM
Description: Rams running back Daryl Richardson had his injured foot stepped on early in Sunday's game and never came back into the game.
Insight: Neither Isaiah Pead (six rushers for-20 yards) or Benny Cunningham (4-for-20) did much against the Dallas defense, although Pead did catch seven balls for 43 yards. A healthy Richardson should still be the Rams' No. 1 running back.

Description: Rams running back Daryl Richardson (foot) did very little in practice Friday and could be limited Sunday, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Insight: Thomas says to "keep an eye" on Richardson's workload. Fantasy owners should only consider him as a flex option Sunday at Dallas.

9/18/2013 4:08:00 PM
Description: Rams running back Daryl Richardson (foot) did not practice on Wednesday, but is expected to return on Thursday.
Insight: In the first game since the return of Isaiah Pead, Richardson saw 40 plays, Pead 29 plays and Benny Cunningham seven plays. Richardson saw just 10 carries for 35 yards primarily because the Rams fell way behind the Falcons and were forced to pass 55 times.

Description: According to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Rams running back Daryl Richardson (foot) returned to practice Thursday as expected and "got a fair amount of work."
Insight: Richardson missed practice Wednesday with a sore foot, but coach Jeff Fisher said he "just needed some rest." Richardson needs a strong performance Sunday at Atlanta to avoid losing snaps to Isaiah Pead, who was suspended for Week 1. Richardson had 63 rushing yards and 33 receiving yards on 25 touches against the Cardinals in his first professional start.

8/19/2013 9:33:00 PM
Description: Daryl Richardson will be the Rams' starting running back Week 1 against the Cardinals.
Insight: Zac Stacy and Isaiah Pead will compete for the backup job. Richardson rushed four times for 24 yards in his lone preseason appearance August 8th versus Cleveland.

8/16/2013 5:36:00 PM
Description: Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com thinks Rams running back Daryl Richardson has "done nothing to endanger" his status as the starter.
Insight: "... in fact, (Richardson) has probably put a bit of distance between himself and competitors such as Isaiah Pead, Terrance Ganaway and rookies Zac Stacy and Benny Cunningham." St. Louis OC Brian Schottenheimer praised Pead Friday but confirmed that Richardson is ahead of the pack so far.

8/6/2013 8:06:00 PM
Description: St. Louis coach Jeff Fisher said he expects running back Daryl Richardson to win the starting job.
Insight: "I think Daryl comes back as our starter," Fisher said. Richardson, who was a seventh-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, played over Isaiah Pead, a second-rounder, as Steven Jackson's backup last season and has the inside track over Pead to start this season. Pead will miss Week 1 due to a suspension and will have competition from rookie fifth-rounder Zac Stacy for the backup job.

8/3/2013 11:20:00 AM
Description: St. Louis running back Daryl Richardson is the early favorite to win the Rams' starting running back job, but head coach recently told Ian Rapoport that they might be "playing two or three backs all the time."
Insight: Those are words no fantasy owner wants to hear. Isaiah Pead and Zac Stacy are the team's other running back options and receiver Tavon Austin may get some carries too.

7/7/2013 10:50:00 AM
Description: Clark Judge of CBS Sports hears that Daryl Richardson is the favorite to win the Rams' starting running back job.
Insight: Richardson racked up 475 yards as a change of pace back behind Steven Jackson last season. Isaiah Pead and Zac Stacy are the team's other running back options with rookie wide receiver Tavon Austin also likely to get a few carries a game out of the backfield.

10/31/2012 9:52:00 AM
Description: Rams coach Jeff Fisher recently addressed rumors about his starting running back, Steven Jackson, indicating that St. Louis is not planning on trading him.
Insight: Rams rookie Daryl Richardson has rushed for an excellent 5.4 ypc average, but coach Fisher has put the halt to speculation that starter Jackson will be traded, so Richardson's fantasy value should remain at its current level.

9/17/2012 10:20:00 AM
Description: Rams rookie Daryl Richardson came in for injured Steven Jackson (groin) and rushed for 83 yards on 15 carries and also caught two passes for 19 yards in the Rams 31-28 win over Washington.
Insight: The seventh-round selection appears to be the handcuff for Jackson, not the higher draft choice Isaiah Pead. Pead could only be found on special teams.

8/30/2012 10:53:00 PM
Description: Rams rookie Daryl Richardson looks to be in the lead for carries behind Steven Jackson. Richardson played with the starters in the team's final preseason game Thursday and had 36 yards on nine carries and 19 yards on three catches. However, the presence of fellow rookie Isaiah Pead means there is no obvious handcuff for Jackson.
Insight: Richardson finished with 126 yards on 31 carries this preseason, a ypc of 4.1. Pead is also in the running for snaps behind Jackson, and though Pead rushed for 58 yards on 10 carries in a backup role Thursday, he finished the preseason with 3.1 ypc. Pead has been better returning kicks, averaging 29.8 yards on five kick returns.

6/2/2012 11:52:00 AM
Description: The Rams signed running back Daryl Richardson, their seventh-round selection, to a contract.
Insight: Richardson will likely start the season as the No. 3 back behind veteran Steven Jackson and another rookie Isaiah Pead. The competition between Pead and Richardson could have significance given Jackson's injury history. It will be worth watching during training camp and the exhibition season.
