Description: Lions running back Joique Bell (knee) "cut and accelerated with ease" during team portions of practice Tuesday, according to mlive.com.
Insight: Bell sat out OTAs and minicamp due to a knee injury he's been dealing with since last season. The 27-year-old had 1,197 yards from scrimmage and eight touchdowns on 219 touches (166 carries) last season. He's expected to have closer to a 50 percent split of the touches with Reggie Bush this season after Bush had 277 touches in 14 games a year ago.

Description: Lions running back Joique Bell (knee) has gained clearance to run at full speed, according to mlive.com.
Insight: "I'm feeling 100 percent," Bell said. "I'm feeling great." Bell sat out OTAs and minicamp due to a knee injury he's been dealing with since last season. The 27-year-old had 1,197 yards from scrimmage and eight touchdowns on 219 touches (166 carries) last season. Insight: Bell was one of fantasy's pleasant surprises last season, contributing 1,201 all-purpose yards and eight touchdowns in his 16 appearances. He won't see as big a workload as Reggie Bush but Bell is still worth owning in all formats.

Description: Lions running back Joique Bell was held out of Wednesday's practice due to a sore knee.
Insight: Bell was used a season-high 30 times last Sunday as he totaled 154 combined yards and a touchdown, but the workload may have taken its toll on the running back. We will know more later in the week.

11/28/2013 4:13:00 PM
Description: Lions running back Joique Bell had 94 rushing yards on 19 carries, 34 receiving yards on three catches and one touchdown Thursday against the Packers.
Insight: The Lions controlled the pace of the game from the outset and ran the ball 43 times for 241 yards and two touchdowns. While Bell has remained involved in the offense as a backup to Reggie Bush, his production has been inconsistent. The 27-year-old has 813 yards from scrimmage (435 rushing, 378 receiving) and six scores in 12 games.

11/24/2013 11:47:00 AM
Description: Detroit halfback Joique Bell is active for Sunday's contest against the Buccaneers.
Insight: Bell had been questionable with a foot injury. Though not an ideal option, you could do worse for a replacement if one of your starters (Marshawn Lynch or LeSean McCoy perhaps) is on bye.

Description: Lions running back Joique Bell (foot) got in a full practice session Friday, according to Tim Twentyman of detroitlions.com.
Insight: Bell suffered a foot injury late in the third quarter of Sunday's game, but he should be able to play in Week 12. He saw more work than Reggie Bush against the Steelers due to Bush's fumble and some sloppy weather conditions, but Bush will be back in the lead role at Ford Field Sunday against Tampa Bay.

11/20/2013 6:15:00 PM
Description: Lions running back Joique Bell (foot) missed Wednesday's practice.
Insight: Bell suffered a foot injury late in the third quarter of Sunday's game. Coach Jim Schwartz said Bell was cleared to return to the game, but the running back didn't and was limping after the game. Bell said he doesn't think it is a Lisfranc injury, but he's questionable for Week 12.

Insight: Bell is listed on Detroit's injury report as questionable for Sunday's game versus Cincinnati. If Bell can't play or is limited, which seems likely, starter Reggie Bush (376 yards in 78 rushes) should see more carries.

Hot9/22/2013 6:40:00 PM
Description: Detroit backup running back Joique Bell piled on 132 yards from scrimmage and scored a touchdown on 24 touches Sunday at Washington.
Insight: Bell, who started in place of the injured Reggie Bush, rushed 20 times for 63 yards and caught four passes for 69 yards. He should continue to have a role in this offense even after Bush returns in Week 4, and that's enough to make him a flex option in most leagues.

Hot9/22/2013 12:15:00 PM
Description: Detroit backup running back Joique Bell will be the workhorse in the Lions backfield with starter Reggie Bush declared inactive for Week 3.
Insight: Bell has produced 164 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns over the first two weeks, mostly via the pass, and fantasy owners should expected a big day against a weak Washington defense.

9/17/2013 12:25:00 PM
Description: Lions backup running back Joique Bell could get additional work with starter Reggie Bush nicked up.
Insight: Bell has produced 164 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns over the first two weeks, mostly via the pass, but fantasy owners who were hoping he'd be the starter after seeing Bush miss the second half last week will be disappointed. Bell could still be a flex option, however.

9/8/2013 5:27:00 PM
Description: Lions running back Joique Bell had a pair of short touchdowns and produced 92 yards from scrimmage Sunday against the Vikings.
Insight: Mikel Leshoure was a healthy inactive, leaving Bell as the team's goal-line back. Bell caught 52 passes for 485 yards last season and it appears he still is going to be involved in the passing game despite the addition of Reggie Bush. Bell could prove to be a useful week-to-week flex player.

8/16/2013 11:21:00 AM
Description: Detroit running back Joique Bell and not Mikel Leshoure may be the No. 2 man behind oft-injured starter Reggie Bush.
Insight: Bell is getting more opportunities than Leshoure who was on the field for just seven plays in Thursday's exhibition game against Cleveland. Bell is a better pass receiver and had a better ypc average last season and appears at this time to be the handcuff for fantasy owners.

3/26/2013 4:10:00 PM
Description: Detroit head coach Jim Schwartz says running backs Joique Bell and Mikel Leshoure will still be part of the Lions offense, according to a report from detroitlions.com, but we don't see how.
Insight: Bush figures to be the starter and the pass receiver and Leshoure should get the short yardage and goal line work. Barring injury, that obviously would leave Bell, who caught 52 balls last season, out in the cold.

8/11/2012 11:15:00 AM
Description: Detroit backup running back Joique Bell ran well against the Browns on Friday night, with 16 carries for 89 yards.
Insight: Bell and Keiland Williams (9-71) showed well in the team's first exhibition game and should get more chances down the road. If they continue to improve the Lions may not need to search for a veteran while Jahvid Best and Mikel Leshoure rehab their injuries.
